Commission for Environmental Co-operation

The Commission for Environmental Co-operation (CEC) is an international organisation created by Canada, Mexico and the United States under the North American Agreement on Environmental Co-operation (NAAEC), in order to address regional environmental concerns. The website provides general information about the Commission and its projects. The Publications and Information section includes detailed summaries of the environmental laws of Canada, Mexico and the US.

Supreme Court of Canada

Official website of the Ottawa based Supreme Court of Canada. Information on the role of the court and background to the Canadian judicial system is provided along with an outline of the constitutional framework, organisation of the courts and judiciary. A history of the Court and profiles of the current and past chief justices and justices of the court are included. A timetable of hearings and searchable database of cases is given on the site.

Prevent Genocide International

Website of Prevent Genocide International, a non-profit education organisation with an ultimate aim to prevent genocide. The website provides educational material about Genocide - including the legal definitions and the major writings by Dr Raphael Lemkin for the years from 1933-1947. It also includes the text of the Genocide Convention, domestic laws implementing the Genocide Convention, documents and articles related to the prevention and punishment of Genocide (including the 1985 Whittaker Report). Groups of people covered include Armenians, Roma, Kurds and Bosnians.

Société de Législation Comparée

The Société de Législation Comparée (SLC) was founded in France in 1869. Its members are academics, lawyers and judges with an interest in comparative law, in France and elsewhere. It has consultative status with the UN, the ILO and the Council of Europe. The website includes conference papers and speeches. Contents lists from recent issues of the Société's journal, the Revue Internationale de Droit Comparée (RIDC), are provided, with abstracts of selected articles; there are also details of forthcoming events and guidance on applying for membership.

ADIJ - Association pour le Développement de l'Informatique Juridique

The Association pour le Développement de l'Informatique Juridique (ADIJ), founded in 1970, is a French organisation focusing on electronic sources of legal information and the legal aspects of computing. It promotes interdisciplinary research and communication between professionals, provides training, disseminates information and provides a mediation serivce. Ontario Human Rights Commission

Official site of the Ontario Human Rights Commission which was established in 1961 to administer Ontario's Human Rights Code. The agency is accountable to the Legislature through the Minister of Citizenship. The site provides general information about the Commission and about the various rights Ontarians are entitled to. It also contains the full-text of the Human Rights Code, annual reports of the Commission, consultation and discussion documents, policies, plain language publications and guides.

Canadian Institute of Resources Law

Internet website providing general information about the Canadian Institute of Resource Law which was formed in 1979 by the University of Calgary to undertake and promote research in Canadian resource law and environmental issues. The website provides background details of the Institute's mandate, governance and management structure, with staff profiles and contacts list. Publications include reports, papers and conference proceedings, some of which are available in full text online.

Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission: Decisions, Notices and Orders

A database of Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) decisions, notices and orders (DNOs). Reporting to Parliament through the Minister of Canadian Heritage, the CRTC is "an independent agency responsible for regulating Canada's broadcasting and telecommunications systems." Decisions can be browsed by number and/or by keyword searching back to 1984 for most sections. The site is available in English and French, the official languages of Canada.
