International Criminal Court

Website of the International Criminal Court (ICC), which is based at the Hague in the Netherlands. It role is to promote the rule of law and deal with the most serious international crimes: genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. The founding Rome Statute is available on the website, together with other basic legal texts, information about ongoing cases and annual reports. Background information about the Court is also provided, including details of its history, organisation and management. The site can be viewed in English or French.

Canadian Marketing Association

The website of the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) is an online information resource that aims to provide information to the Canadian marketing industry on legislative matters in general and self-regulatory policies in particular. The site has a section linking to guidance in the areas of privacy, telemarketing, consumer protection and internet marketing. The CMA's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice is provided on the site in full-text.

Association du Barreau Canadien - Division Québec

Website of the Quebec Division of the Association du Barreau Canadien (abcqc.qc.ca) representing members of the legal profession in the province of Quebec. There are sections covering the function and purpose of the Association, the work of committees covering specialist subject areas, a programme of events and a recent news section. The Association publishes a journal entitled "Point de Mire" and the current issue and back issues since June 2002 are available in full-text in PDF format.

Forum Historiae Iuris

Forum Historiae Iuris is a legal history journal which is made freely available online by the Law Faculty at Humboldt University in Berlin. The journal includes articles, book reviews, lectures and research news most of which are presented in German. A selection of articles can be viewed in either English, French or Italian and some have an English summary. Articles are arranged by date and historical period including antiquity, middle ages, early modern period and nineteenth to twentieth century. Articles are made available in HTML or PDF formats.

INAVEM: Institut National d'Aide aux Victimes et de Médiation

INAVEM is a federation of about 150 French organisations offering support to victims - whether of crime, violence, abuse, accidents, or other misfortunes - and providing mediation services. The website presents various documents to do with INAVEM's work, including its annual reports, constitution, codes of ethics, statistics and public policy documents on subjects including domestic violence, discrimination, children and human rights. Guidance is available for victims, plus a directory of support organisations and details of telephone help lines. The site is in French throughout.

Barreau du Québec

Official website of the Barreau du Québec (Bar Association of Quebec). Key sections of the site cover services to members, services for the general public and Bar publications. The organisation publishes two journals, which are freely available on the website in full-text: Journal du Barreau ( 1996 - ), which provides articles and news, and Revue du Barreau (1999 - 2005), which includes more substantial articles. There is also a monthly e-newsletter, Le Bref (2007 - ), and searchable databases of Bar members and mediators.

Le Défenseur des droits

Website of the office of the Défenseur des droits, the Children's Ombudsman for France. The office was created by the French Parliament in March 2000, and its mission is to defend and promote children's rights in France. The site explains the role of the Défenseur. Reports and opinions of the Défenseur are available, together with summaries of relevant French laws and information about the International Convention on the Rights of the Child (with the text of the Convention, in French).

Law Society of Upper Canada

The Law Society of Upper Canada is the self-governing body for lawyers in the Canadian province of Ontario.The website has information about the history, management and functions of the Law Society with online news and press releases providing details of the Law Society's activities. There is information about the complaints and discipline process along with rules of professional conduct, byelaws and discipline decisions online back to 2001. The site includes reports produced by the Law Society covering education and equality issues and copies of the Ontario Lawyers Gazette.

Courts and Tribunals in Belgium

Website of the Belgium courts and tribunals covering the administration of justice in Belgium. It gives contact details and background information for Belgian courts including the Cour de Cassation, Cours d'Appel, Cours du Travail and various tribunals.  There is also general information for the public about the law and the judicial system in Belgium. The site is available in French, Dutch or German.
