Conseil de la Concurrence

Website of the Conseil de la Concurrence, the French Competition Council. The Council advises the French Government on competition, and exercises jurisdiction when market competition is distorted. It investigates cartel agreements, abuses of dominant position and low price fixing, as reported to it by government, firms, local authorities, trade associations or other organisations. The site includes details of the Council's organisational and legislative background and an outline of its procedure. The Commercial Code and laws relevant to the Competition Council are included on the site.

Financial Consumer Agency of Canada

Website of the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, a federal regulator established in 2001 to oversee consumer issues in the financial services sector. The site provides information about the Agency's history, role and mandate, and details of the federal and provincial organisations it regulates, such as banks, credit unions, trust and loan companies, insurance companies, retail associations and co-operative credit associations. The site is arranged into sections aimed at consmers, industry and the media.

WTO Dispute Settlement

Section of the World Trade Organization (WTO) website covering its role in international dispute settlement and its procedures for resolving trade disputes. The WTO was created in 1995 (successor to GATT) to negotiate and enforce global rules of trade. It links to official documents on the WTO's Documents Online database, and to key dispute settlement materials such as the Rules of Conduct for the Understanding on Rules and Procedures Governing the Settlement of Disputes, the Working Procedures for the Appellate Review, and WTO Panel and Appellate Body Reports.

World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) "promotes and coordinates at institutional level the fight against doping in sport in all forms". WADA was established under the terms of the Lausanne Declaration on Doping in Sport which followed from the first World Conference on Doping in Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland, on February 2-4, 1999. WADA monitors compliance with the worldwide standrad for anti-doping regulation - the World Anti-Doping Code. The website contains material on the development, acceptance and implementation of the world anti-doping code.

Juridoc

Juridoc is the law website of New Caledonia (Nouvelle-Calédonie), a French overseas territory in the Pacific Ocean. The site is provided by the government of the territory. It includes the full text of the Journal Officiel de la Nouvelle Calédonie (JONC) from 1965 onwards, together with codes, individual laws as amended, judicial decisions and administrative decisions. There is also a page of links to other law websites based in New Caledonia, and beyond. The language of the site is French.

Droit des affaires en Mauritanie

Collection of legal materials relating to business and company law in Mauritania made freely available online by Droit-Afrique.com a web portal to business law in French-speaking Africa. The site offers links to full text Mauritanian laws dealing with finance, taxation, customs, intellectual property, employment, investment and mining. There are also laws covering banking, insurance, property, maritime, company and criminal law. Additional links are given to government departments and regional organisations that Mauritania is a member of. The site is provided in French throughout.

Luxembourg Ministère de la Justice

Official website of the Luxembourg Ministry of Justice. The site provides a profile of the Justice Minister and information on the organisation and functions of the Ministry. These include civil law issues, criminal law including prisons, company law and company registration. A section of the site aimed at citizens includes advice on compensation for victims of crimes, legal aid, review of criminal trials and nationality issues. There is information on the Luxembourg courts and Constitutional Court judgements are provided.

Legal and judicial system of Niger

Online guide to the legal system and legal materials of Niger written by Bello Mahamadou Boubacar who is an intern at the appeal court in Niamey and a United Nations volunteer lawyer. The guide was published in 2009 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The author gives an introduction to the Republic of Niger and the Niger legal system explaining the dualistic system of law which includes written laws and customary law.

Legislation of the Northwest Territories

The website of the Department of Justice in the Canadian Northwest Territories provides consolidated primary and secondary legislation, updated monthly. Basic and advanced search facilities are available, or users can browse the legislation by title (under "Alphabetical Search"). The Northwest Territories Rules of Court and the Northwest Territories Gazette (2006 - ) can be found via the same web page. The website has an English and a French version and all the documents provided are bilingual.

L'Institut de Droit international

The Institute of International Law is a learned society that promotes the development of international law. It was established in 1873 and is based in Belgium. Membership is drawn from eminent international lawyers from around the world. The website provides a history of the institute and the text of its statutes; online versions of the Yearbook of the Institute of International Law from 1873 to 2000; the Institute's resolutions, reports and declarations; a bibliography of publications by and about the Institute; and a directory of members.
