The Geneva Academy

The Geneva Academy, at Geneva University, carries out research and training on international law relating to armed conflict. Its website includes information about courses and specialised training at the Academy, outlines of current and completed research projects and details of publications. It also provides a series of research papers. There are links to the Rule of Law in Armed Conflicts Project website and to the Journal of International Criminal Justice, which is hosted at the Academy.

Public Law Project

The Public Law Project (PLP) is a UK-based legal charity whose aim is to improve access to justice in public law matters. The site provides information about the PLP and its work, including research, casework and training. Background information is given about public law is and there are leaflets on topics such as judicial review and making a complaint to the Ombudsman. Research reports, articles and press releases can be downloaded from the site.

War Crimes Research Office

The War Crimes Research Office (WCRO) at the American University Washington College of Law specialises in international criminal and humanitarian law. It provides expert assistance and conducts research for international courts and tribunals, runs education programmes and publishes reports. The site has information about WCRO projects and events.

Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System

Website of the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System (IAALS) a national research body based at the University of Denver. IAALS research is focused on the US civil justice system covering the following areas: civil justice reform; civil case management; judicial selection; judicial performance evaluation; judicial independence and domestic relations. IAALS reports are made freely available on the site to download in full text. However free registration is required before users can download the publications.

Australian Network for Japanese Law

The Australian Network for Japanese Law is maintained by the College of Law at the Australian National University, the Faculty of Law at Bond University and the Faculty of Law at the University of Sydney. Membership is not required to view the site, but is free and offers notifications of upcoming events and conferences. Aside from lists of events, courses and publications, the site also provides some full-text and abstracted articles (from the Journal of Japanese Law) and research papers.

Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research

The Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research (SCCJR) is a research collaboration between the Universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier, Stirling and Strathclyde, aiming to improving the criminal justice research infrastructure in Scottish Higher Education Institutions and carry out criminal justice research relevant to Scotland. Its website has details of the Centre's projects and makes available publications and seminar/workshop videos, as well as a podcast focusing on researchers and their work.

Research Committee on Sociology of Law

The Research Committee on Sociology of Law (RCSL) is an organ of the International Sociological Association (ISA). The site is a blog covering its activities of the RCSL and those of the International Institute for the Sociology of Law (IISL), including conferences and meetings. Current and past issues of the RCSL newsletter are available and there are links to socio-legal associations, research bodies and journals.

Reiss Center on Law and Security

The Reiss Center on Law and Security is a think tank based at New York University School of Law which brings together academics, practitioners and policymakers. Its website has details of courses, events and publications, including conference papers and articles. There is also a database covering reports by US presidents on their war powers, as well as an online forum covering security issues.
