Cepani

Website of Cepani, the Belgian Center for Arbitration and Mediation, originally founded by the International Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Belgian Companies. The site provides organisational information relating to the Center along with details of activities and study groups. There are sections covering Cepani's work in arbitration, mediation and domain name disputes including procedural information, Cepani's rules and relevant sections of the Belgian Judicial Code. Decisions of domain name disputes Cepani has been involved with can be downloaded from the site.

UNCITRAL Notes on Organizing Arbitral Proceedings

Guidance notes on organising arbitral proceedings produced by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and published on its website. UNCITRAL is a core legal body of the UN in the field of international trade law, working towards the progressive harmonisation of the law of international trade. These non-binding guidance notes were drafted in consultation with experts from various legal systems, national arbitration bodies and international professional associations and finalised at the twenty-ninth session of UNCITRAL (New York, 28 May - 14 June 1996).

Manx Church Legislation

A collection of statutory materials, articles, and commentaries concerned with the ecclesiastical law of the Isle of Man. Acts and regulations of Tynwald carried by the site include: Church Legislation Procedure Act 1993, Church Representation Rules as they have effect in the Isle of Man, and the Marriage Act 1984. Further documents on the site cover issues such as: the ordination of women priests, tenure of church wardens and maintenance of church records. The documents are listed in a table with a note on content and link to full-text.

Digital Millennium Copyright Act Study

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) was enacted into law in the United States on October 28 1998. Section 104 of the DMCA required the US Copyright Office to carry out this study, which is now published on their website. The study seeks to evaluate the relationship between technological change and copyright law, focusing on copyright related issues such as first sale doctrine, temporary incidental copies and archival copying of computer programmes. Feedback on these issues from the library community, publishers and private citizens forms part of the study. 

Update to international commercial arbitration: locating the resources

A bibliographic resource guide presenting commentary and links to legal information sources for International Commercial Arbitration. The guide has been prepared by Jean M. Wenger, the Government Documents and Foreign and International Law Librarian at Cook County Law Library, Chicago, USA. The guide helps locate useful literature and resources; online library catalogues and bibliographies; specialist journals; online subscription services; and selected free web-based materials.

Guide to Indian laws

A resource guide focusing on Indian laws and the legal system in India written by V. Ramakrishnan, an experienced lawyer practising in Chennai, South India. The guide is published on the Globalex website and is made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The author provides guidance on locating information and documentation about Indian laws with links to web resources and bibliographic details for standard books and commentaries on selected topics.

British Institute of International and Comparative Law

The British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) is a London-based organisation working in the fields of commonwealth law, comparative law, European law, international law and conflict of laws. BIICL was established in 1958, incorporating the Grotius Society and Society of Comparative Legislation. The website describes the institute's aims and activities focusing on the international rule of law and legal order, human rights and the development of international commercial and financial law.

Church of England Measures

One of a series of concise factsheets produced by the House of Commons Information Office and published on the website of the UK Parliament. The Church of England Measures factsheet, last revised in 2010, provides a brief history of how the internal government of the Church came under Crown control. Current legislative procedure for the Church of England is clarified, with particular emphasis on the legislative powers remaining with Parliament.
