Guide to Legal Research in Belarus

An article offering an outline of the legal system and notes on legal materials for the Republic of Belarus in Eastern Europe. The guide has been written by Nadia Shalygina, Director of the International Law Library in Minsk. The guide was published in 2005 and updated in 2008 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law.

Bona Vacantia

Official website describing the role and work of the Bona Vacantia Division in the UK's Government Legal Department. The term "Bona Vacantia" ("vacant goods") refers to property that passes to the Crown because it has no owner. The site gives information about the Division's Companies Group and Estates Group. The Companies Group handles property relating to dissolved and insolvent businesses. The Estates Group deals with the estates of persons who die intestate or without known kin. A collection of Guideline documents are available.

Geneva Conventions and Commentaries

Section of the International Committee of the Red Cross website devoted to the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and their protocols. The four Conventions are: Convention for the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded and Sick in Armed Forces in the Field; Convention for the Amelioration of the Condition of Wounded, Sick and Shipwrecked Members of Armed Forces at Sea; Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War; and Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.

Restorative Justice Online

This site is a service of Prison Fellowship International's Centre for Justice and Reconciliation. The introduction outlines the values, principles and definition of restorative justice. Users of the site can suggest solutions to the problems presented. The "Resources" section presents links to documents from different jurisdictions on restorative justice, as well as some United Nations and Council of Europe documents. A comprehensive annotated bibliography on restorative justice around the world is also found in the "Resources" section.
