National Legal Aid

Description:
Website of National Legal Aid (NLA), the organisation representing the state Legal Aid Commissions in Australia. The NLA seeks to improve leadership and management of the legal aid system by means of cooperation and knowledge-sharing. The independent Legal Aid Commissions provide access to legal information, advice and representation for people in their states or territories who are unable to afford the services of a private lawyer. The NLA site gives access to contact details and websites of each of the Legal Aid Commissions. There are policy papers, best practice guidelines and NLA submissions to government on legal aid issues along with a copy of the strategic plan.
