Government of the Sultanate of Oman

This page provides information on the government of Oman and forms part of the Ministry of Information's website. There is an overview of the Omani legal system and an outline of the roles of the Council of Oman (Majlis Oman), the State Council (Majlis al Dawla) and the Consultative Council (Majlis al-Shura). Information is given on the development of the legal system in Oman including the Basic Law of the State, the establishment of a Public Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Legal Affairs and the courts system.

Macao Legislation

A selection of Macao legislation provided on the internet by the Government Printing Bureau. Macao is a special administrative region of China and a former Portuguese colony. The laws are provided in full, in Chinese and Portuguese. The Basic Law of Macao, codes, legislation and regulations are included along with treaties and inter regional agreements with China and Hong Kong.

Kituo Cha Katiba: Eastern African Centre for Constitutional Development

Kituo Cha Katiba is a research centre based at Makerere University. It aims to promote research into constitutionalism, constitutional development, constitutional law in East African nations. Main countries covered are Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zanzibar. The site provides information on the aims and work of the body. It includes access to its annual state of constitutionalism reports from 1999 to date, plus reports from its surveys and fact finding missions in East Africa.

Commonwealth Association of Legislative Counsel

Website of the Commonwealth Association of Legislative Counsel (CALC), which is hosted by the Australian Government Office of Parliamentary Counsel. CALC is concerned with the promotion of training and support in legislative drafting. CALC's newsletters and its journal, The Loophole, together with a collection of articles and papers on legislative drafting (many of which have also appeared in The Loophole), are available on the site. There is also information about CALC conferences and about training in legislative drafting.

New Horizons: Resources for International Competition Law Research

Online guide to international competition law resources written by Jean M. Wenger, Government Documents/Foreign & International Law Librarian at the Cook County Law Library in Chicago.The guide was published on the features page of LLRX.com in March 2005 and covers key online and printed resources relating to international competition law. There is background information and links to international and regional competition organisations and to key documents and materials produced by these bodies.

Federal Register of Legislation

Website of the Australian Government's Legislation Register which provides access to Commonwealth primary and secondary legislation. The Legislation Register is managed by the Office of Parliamentary Counsel and contains the full text and details of the lifecycle of individual laws and the relationships between them. Legislation is available as amended (in both current and historical versions), and as originally passed. Bills and gazettes are also provided.

Lois et règlements

The Constitution and selected, codes, laws and treaties of Sénégal, as published on the official Government website. The laws and interface are presented in French, which is the official language of the Republic of Sénégal. There are codes covering a number of areas including telecommunications, environment, investment and forestry. A copy of the Constitution and other laws and regulations are also presented. All the legislation can be downloaded in full. The site can be viewed in French throughout

Jamaican Ministry of Justice

Official Website of the Ministry of Justice in Jamaica. The site provides background information, an organisation chart and contact details for the different agencies and departments of the Ministry including the Administrator-General's Department, the Dispute Resolution Foundation and the Legal Aid Council. There is a guide to the Jamaican court system and an online copy of the most recent annual Court Report. The Laws of Jamaica can also be searched or browsed on the site.

Guernsey Bar

The Website of the Guernsey Bar provides information about Guernsey law and advocates. It has contact details for members and a directory of Guernsey law firms, together with information about the role of an advocate and a history of the Guernsey Bar. There is also advice on instructing an advocate, getting legal aid and making a complaint. The guidance on Guernsey law covers civil proceedings, criminal proceedings and family proceedings. Full-text legislation and links to legislation are also given.

Air Accident Investigation Unit

The website of the Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) is an online resource giving access to information about the organisation's role in investigations into aircraft accidents in Ireland. The site includes details of regulations under which it operates. Reports published by the AAIU relating to specific accidents and incidents are published on the site in PDF. These reports are aimed at informing the aviation industry and the public about these events, and are added to the site on completion of the report.
