Timor-Leste: Older legislation

This section of the Timor-Leste Courts website provides access to older laws which are no longer in effect in Timor-Leste. The Official Bulletin of Timor (Boletim Oficial de Timor), which publishes legislation and other official documents, is available from 1883 to 1975 (in Portuguese). The Portuguese Civil Code of 1867 is also provided, again in Portuguese, together with the Indonesian Penal Code in English and Indonesian.

Timor-Leste Official Journal

The Timor-Leste Official Journal ((Jornal da Republica) is available on the website of the East Timorese Ministry of Justice from 2002 onwards. The Journal publishes East Timorese legislation and other official material, in Portuguese. The website also has the East Timorese Constitution in Portuguese and Tetum.

Travel Law Quarterly

Website of Travel Law Quarterly (TLQ) which is published by the Leisure Industries Section of the International Bar Association. TLQ is aimed at travel industry professionals, lawyers and students and covers topics such as “travel agency, tour operations, cruise law, air law, timeshare, hotel law as well as the regulation and licensing of the travel industry”. The full journal is available by subscription but TLQ Online, which provides additional content, is freely available on the website.

Edited by Dr. Danny Friedmann, a Hong Kong-based academic, this blog features commentary and information on intellectual property law in China. Includes a set of links to IP laws, regulations and court decisions from China , Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

Researching Applicable Law in Wales – What is Unique in Wales?

Online guide to the law in Wales written by Dr. Catrin Fflur Huws who is lecturer and Director of the Centre for Welsh Legal Affairs in the Department of Law and Criminology at Aberystwyth University and Lillian Stevenson who is Academic Services Manager and Law Librarian at Aberystwyth University. The guide was published in 2012 (and updated in 2024) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law.

Government of Antigua and Barbuda

This is the official website of the government of Antigua and Barbuda. The site contains general information on the structure of different areas of government, as well as the text of the Constitution. It also makes available a link to PDF files of all the country’s current bills and acts as well as a legislative glossary and statutory instruments. Also available are legal forms for various applications and licenses.

Maldives Department of Information

The official website of the Department of Information in the Republic of Maldives (part of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture), formally the Ministry of Legal Reform, Information and Arts. The Downloads section contains links to PDFs of law and regulations, mainly relating to information and media but including the country’s constitution. Most documents are in Dhiveti, but the constitution is in English.

Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry

The official website of the Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry. Contains links to text of trade agreements involving Malaysia, particularly relating to ASEAN (the Association of South East Asian Nations). The text of certain pieces of trade-related legislation is available to view and announcements and media releases give information on new amendments regarding trade and industry. The site can be viewed in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

An overview of the legal system and legal research in the Republic of South Sudan

Online guide to the law of South Sudan, which became a sovereign nation in 2011, written by Paul Mertenskoetter who is a Juris Doctor candidate at the New York University School of Law and Dong Samuel Luak who is Secretary-General of the South Sudan Law Society. The guide was published in 2012 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The authors provide background information to South Sudan and an outline of the 2011 transitional Constitution.
