Guide to legal research in the Dominican Republic

Online guide to the law and legal materials of the Dominican Republic written by Marisol Florén-Romero who is Assistant Director for Library Services and Foreign & International Law Librarian at Florida International University. The guide was published in 2007 (and updated in 2022) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The guide provides background information on the history and legal system of the Dominican Republic.

CyLaw

Cypriot law site established in 2002 and now run by the Cyprus Institute of Legal Information. The site provides all judgments of the Supreme Court (1883 onwards), together with judgments of the Supreme Constitutional Court, Administrative Court and Court of First Instance. It also makes available consolidated and original legislation, the civil procedure rules and Competition Commission decisions. There are basic and advanced search facilities and the content can also be browsed by type of document. The site is entirely in Greek.

Online Judaic Responsa Project

Responsa is a database of Torah literature, available by subscription from Bar Ilan University in Israel. It includes the Bible, the Talmud Bavli and Yerushalmi, with commentaries; there are works about Jewish law and custom, legal codes and over 80,000 Halachic law decisions. The database is in Hebrew, but the website has English and French interfaces.

Boston University School of Law: The Year Books

This database provides a searchable index to, and paraphrase, of the Year Books, which were the law reports of medieval England. The database, compiled by Professor David J. Seipp of Boston University, indexes all year book reports printed in the chronological series for all years between 1268 and 1535. The site also has a list of old printed editions of year books, a list of manuscripts and their locations, and a bibliography (compiled in 2002) of articles and books about the Year Books.

Environmental Law

Environmental Law, a journal produced by the students of Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, is available online from volume 36 onwards, together with contents lists from earlier volumes. The related Ninth Circuit Review,  containing case summaries and court opinions from the US Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit, can be accessed from the same website. 

Civil Rights Litigation Clearinghouse

The Civil Rights Litigation Clearinghouse is an initiative of the Law School at Washington University in St. Louis. Designed to increase understanding of civil rights litigation in the United States, it is a collection of US civil rights case documents, focusing on areas such as child welfare, disability rights, immigration, prison conditions, election/voting rights, juvenile institutions, nursing home conditions, public housing and school desegregation.

Tongan Legislation

Current revised edition of the Laws of Tonga (primary and secondary), provided by the Attorney General's Office (AGO), together with bills, the official gazette and a collection of acts that are no longer in force, all in both English and Tongan. The website also includes a collection of cases from the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Magistrates Court, Privy Council and other courts and tribunals, accompanied by a consolidated index of Tongan cases.
