Online guide to the law and legal materials of the Dominican Republic written by Marisol Florén-Romero who is Assistant Director for Library Services and Foreign & International Law Librarian at Florida International University. The guide was published in 2007 (and updated in 2022) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The guide provides background information on the history and legal system of the Dominican Republic. There is a section dealing with the court system outlining the responsibilities of the different courts and including links to legislation governing the Supreme Court of Justice. The author highlights primary sources of law including the Constitution, codes and other laws organised by subject and providing links to online versions where available. There is information on law reports and digests and on printed and electronic sources for treaties and international agreements. Details are also given for a range of secondary legal materials including journals, databases and websites along with links to law schools and law firms.
