UK-EU Relations Law

Website focusing on the new legal relationship between the UK and the EU, post Brexit, written by Jack Williams of Monckton Chambers. The site gives an overview of this new developing area of law between the EU and UK and provides links to relevant legal materials. These include UK-EU agreements, EU and UK legislation, legal cases and various policy documents/guidance. There is also a blog covering all aspects of the subject, dating back to June 2020, which can be searched by keyword and browsed by topic or date.

Mercosur Permanent Review Tribunal

Website of the Mercosur Tribunal, the body with responsibility for resolving disputes between member states relating to Mercosur law. Mercosur is the Southern Common Market, a South American trading bloc which includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela and Bolivia. The site outlines the structure of the Tribunal and gives profiles of the arbitrators. Regulations relating to the court and to the Mercosur dispute settlement mechanism, including the Treaty of Asunción which established Mercosur, are also provided along with awards and advisory opinions.

Sistema Costarricense de Información Jurídica

Sistema Costarricense de Información Jurídica (SCIJ) is a website providing Costa Rican legislation, cases and related material. Its ‘PGR Sinalevi’ database contains legislation from 1821 onwards - laws, decrees, regulations, revised codes and other publications – and decisions of the Supreme Court’s constitutional chamber. The ‘Poder Judicial’ section of the site has a case database covering the Supreme Court (all chambers), appeal courts, family court and some other courts; the ‘Hacienda’ section has tax rulings and related documents.

Cayman Islands Law Courts

This website provides information on the history and structure of the Cayman Islands courts. There are profiles of the judges, information on the work of the various committees and professional directories of law firms, Justices of the Peace, licensed attorneys and Notaries Public. A link is given to Cayman Island law reports which are available via the vLex subscription database.

Singapore Law Watch

Singapore Law Watch is a free legal news service provided by the Singapore Academy of Law, a membership organisation for the legal profession in Singapore. The site is updated daily covering news and legal developments in Singapore. Links are given to the latest judgements from the Court of Appeal, High Court, Intellectual Property Office of Singapore and the Tax Boards and to legislation published in the last three months.

Laws.Africa

Laws.Africa is a non-profit organisation working with African governments to make African legislation and cases available for free online. Its website provides technical information and an API developer guide; it also offers case studies, best practice guidance for publishing legal documentation online and information about naming conventions for documents.

Judiciary of Ukraine

Website of the Ukraine Judiciary which provides information on the courts and judicial system in Ukraine. Information on the Supreme Court, High Court of Justice and High Anti-Corruption Court is given although names of judges and other individuals are not currently listed. There’s a searchable database of scheduled cases and legal decisions can be searched using the Unified State Register of Court Decisions. Forms and guidance aimed at Ukrainian citizens are also available. The site can be viewed in Ukrainian only.

LawNigeria

Online platform provided by Tree & Trees JusticeMedia Group. The full text of some items is freely available online (copying restricted) and PDF copies are available for a fee. The site includes federal and state laws, regulations, court rules, and judgments (1914 – present), as well as treaties. Contact information is provided for law firms and legal experts in Nigeria, arranged by practice area.

Lebanese Constitutional Council

Website of the Lebanese Constitutional Council, the body which oversees the constitutionality of laws and rules on electoral disputes. Decisions of the Council are given on the site along with a guide to the work of the Constitutional Council and a copy of the Constitution. The site can be viewed in English, French and Arabic but most of the judgements aren’t given in English.

ECOWAS Community Court of Justice

Website of the ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) Community Court of Justice. The union was established by the Treaty of Lagos in 1975 and the Court was set up under the revised Treaty of 1991 (given on the site). Functions of the Court include determining human rights violations in member states, judging legality of laws adopted by ECOWAS and examining failure of member states to honour their obligations under ECOWAS law. Decisions are available in full back to 2015 along with annual reports, rules of procedure and practice directions.
