International Atomic Energy Agency: Treaties

This part of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) website provides access to treaties the IAEA is involved with. These include international agreements negotiated and concluded by IAEA Member States, agreements to which the IAEA is a party (acting as an international organisation) and IAEA-related treaties which are relevant to the Agency’s work. Subjects covered include nuclear safety, nuclear security, nuclear non-proliferation and civil liability for nuclear damage. Treaties are given in full text in a range of languages in PDF.

ASEAN Legal Instruments

This page of the ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) website provides information on the various legal instruments concluded among and between ASEAN Member States. The legal instruments are presented in a table and arranged according to ASEAN’s 3 community pillars: ASEAN Political Security Committee; ASEAN Economic Community and the ASEAN Socio Cultural Committee. There is information on each agreement including signatories, status and links to the full text.

Concórdia: Acervo de atos internacionais do Brasil

Database of more than 12,000 Brazilian treaties, provided by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Contains instruments dating from 1822 to the present day, whether in force or not. Basic and advanced search facilities are available. The text of each instrument is available in pdf and/or html format, together with information about the status of each treaty. The interface and treaty documents are in Portuguese.

 

Official internet portal for legal information

Legal information website provided by the Russian government. The portal provides browseable and searchable official versions of Russian legislation, resolutions, orders and treaties, and decisions of the Russian Constitutional Court, under ‘Официальное опубликование’ (‘Oficialʹnoe opublikovanie’ / ‘Official publication’, the tab next to the ‘Home’ button).

Ley Chile

Chilean legislation website, provided free of charge by the Library of the Chilean National Congress. Includes the current and historical Chilean codes and constitutions, treaties ratified by Chile and a collection of important individual laws arranged by subject. Simple and advanced search facilities are available, or the site can be browsed by collection (Constitutions, Codes, Treaties, or Laws by Subject). The entire site is in Spanish.  

Indian Treaties Database

Database of treaties entered into by India from 1950 to the present day, maintained by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. The ‘Indian Treaties Database' link allows users to browse by subject, sub-topic, type of treaty and/or country; separate links offer key word and other search facilities. Each record gives the date of signature and the date of accession or ratification (where applicable); for some treaties the date of entry into force is also given. The trea

Treaty information provided by the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs. A database giving details of Austria’s bilateral treaties (‘Bilaterale Staatsverträge’) is available, searchable by keyword or subject, or browseable by country.

United States treaties and international agreements

Law Library of Congress website providing a digitised version of United States Treaties and Other International Agreements, compiled by Charles I. Bevans. Volumes 1-4 cover multilateral treaties between 1776-1949. Volumes 5-12 include the bilateral agreements for the same period, arranged alphabetically by country. Volume 13 is a general index. Each volume is available to download as a single pdf, or as individual pdfs for each treaty, which makes it convenient to browse.
