Council of State

The Council of State is the supreme administrative court of Colombia. Its website, which is in Spanish, provides cases, recent administrative acts, a jurisprudence bulletin and news. Publications are available under ‘Comunicaciones’, including reports on electoral / constitutional affairs and books on contentious administrative law, human rights, indigenous rights, environmental law, gender equality, popular and group actions and other topics.

Sistema Único de Información Normativa (Unified Legislation Information System)

The main legislation site for Colombia, with the current and previous constitutions, updated codes, and laws from 1864 onwards, as well as court decisions on the validity or constitutionality of legislation. Additional content, available via the home page, includes a browseable collection of codes, constitutions and key statutes (‘Normas Destacadas’) and translations of the Constitution into indigenous languages: Inga, Guambiana, Ikun, Kamentsa, Kubeo, Wayuunaiki and Nasa Yuwe. The site is provided by the Ministry of Justice, in Spanish.

Sistema Costarricense de Información Jurídica

Sistema Costarricense de Información Jurídica (SCIJ) is a website providing Costa Rican legislation, cases and related material. Its ‘PGR Sinalevi’ database contains legislation from 1821 onwards - laws, decrees, regulations, revised codes and other publications – and decisions of the Supreme Court’s constitutional chamber. The ‘Poder Judicial’ section of the site has a case database covering the Supreme Court (all chambers), appeal courts, family court and some other courts; the ‘Hacienda’ section has tax rulings and related documents.

Major Pending Election Cases

This database is a project of the Election Law Program at The Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law, made freely available online in partnership with the SCOTUSblog website. The database provides case summaries, comprehensive court filings and expert commentary about important election law cases from around the United States. The case tracker can be searched by date, name, state, status and topic. Along with the case summaries there are links to associated court documents. It is also possible to view all cases relating to the 2020 presidential election results.

Supreme Civil and Criminal Court of Greece

Website of the Greek Supreme Court (Areios Pagos). The English interface has judgments from 2006 onwards, browsable by year or searchable by case number and/or keyword (key words must be in Greek). Historical information about the court is also available in English. The Greek version of the site gives additional information, including press releases, frequently asked questions and a section covering the Supreme Judicial Council.

European Case Law Identifier (ECLI) Search Engine

Search facility covering the national case databases of the EU member states that use ECLI references, plus cases from the Court of Justice of the EU. Searchable by member state, court, area of law and other criteria. Key word searches must, as a rule, use the language of the member state/s whose cases you want to find, however, a small proportion of the cases have been translated into other languages. The search engine is one of the tools offered by the European e-Justice Portal, an initiative of the European Commission and EU member states.

LawNigeria

Online platform provided by Tree & Trees JusticeMedia Group. The full text of some items is freely available online (copying restricted) and PDF copies are available for a fee. The site includes federal and state laws, regulations, court rules, and judgments (1914 – present), as well as treaties. Contact information is provided for law firms and legal experts in Nigeria, arranged by practice area.

Sexual and Gender Based Violence Database Project

The Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) Database provides free access to legal materials dealing with SGBV in 14 African countries. It is a project of the Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (IHRDA) and an extension of the African Human Rights Case Law Analyzer. The laws and cases can be searched by keyword, browsed by country and viewed in full text. The site can be viewed in English, French and Arabic.

ASEAN Judiciaries Portal

Launched in 2018, the ASEAN Judiciaries Portal (AJP), produced by the Council of ASEAN Chief Justices (CACJ), provides information about the judiciaries and legal environments of the ASEAN member states. On the main site there are pages dedicated to the CACJ activities and training courses offered, as well as a case repository. The portal also includes sections specific to the various member states, including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Consumer Crime Cases

The Consumer Crime Cases (CCC) website provides free access to case commentaries and digests of consumer protection and trading standards appeal cases. The site is produced by Victor Smith former Head of Legal Services at Northamptonshire County Council. Cases can be searched using free text terms or using the keyword index or legislation list. Digests highlight key points of law, extracts from the judgements and links to related cases. There are also pages of links to related organisations and legislation.
