ECGI's Working Papers in Law

Collection of working papers dealing with the legal aspects of corporate governance, business and finance made freely available by the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI), a not for profit organisation conducting research into corporate governance issues. The working papers are written by ECGI Fellows and Research Associates and recent topics have included securities laws, international corporate regimes and civil liability and mandatory disclosure.

Painsmith Landlord and Tenant Blog

This blog, focusing on residential landlord and tenant law, is provided by PainSmith Solicitors, a UK-based practice specialising in this area of law. The site includes news and comment on the latest legal developments, legislation, guidance and case law. Posts can be searched or browsed back to October 2008, when the blog started, and tags include Housing Act 1988, Housing Act 2004, Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, regulations, fees, rent and litigation. Blog posts include links to cases and legislation; the site also has links to other housing law and landlord and tenant law blogs.

Neurolaw and Criminal Justice

Online guide looking at forensic neuroscience and criminal justice in the United States written by Ken Strutin who is Director of Legal Information Services at the New York State Defenders Association. The guide was published on LLRX.com in December 2008 and provides an introduction to the debate around the use of neuroscience in criminal cases including brain scanning to determine if a person is fit to stand trial. The author provides background to the science and gives links to news sources including blogs, recent publications, research centres, journals and professional bodies.

Universal Declaration of Human Rights

This site provides historical information and documentation on the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is a joint digitisation project of the UN's Dag Hammarskjöld Library and the Library of the UN Office at Geneva. The site has details of meetings which took place between 1946 and 1948, including meeting records and reports. Documents can be downloaded in English and French. Profiles of members of the Drafting Committee are also given.

Acta Universitatis Danubius -Juridica

Website of the Acta Universitatis Danubius Juridica law review published annually by the Law Faculty of the Danubius University in Romania. The review focuses on legal doctrine, jurisprudence and philosophy and law. Recent articles have dealt with the parliamentary mandate, smuggling and the status of the prosecutor in Romania. Reviews are available online from 2005 onwards and details are given for the Editorial Board and the Scientific Board. The site can be viewed in English, Romanian and French. Articles are presented in full text in either French or English.

Employment factsheets

Selection of factsheets on employment law topics produced and made freely available online by Hallett Employment Law Services Ltd, a United Kingdom based law firm. The factsheets provide guidance and information on a range of employment law topics which can be browsed alphabetically or searched by keyword. Topics covered include flexible working, minimum wage, harassment, unfair dismissal, redundancy and retirement. Factsheets can be viewed in full in HTML.

Saskatchewan legislation

Full text legislation of Saskatchewan made freely available online by the Government of Saskatchewan. The legislation can be searched using simple and advanced search options or browsed by subject or legislation type including acts, regulations, court rules and historical legislation. Some of these options, such as loose leaf releases, are not available online. Full text materials are downloadable in PDF.

Thailand Law Forum

Website of the Thailand Law Forum (TLF), a resource founded in 1997 by American and Thai law professors, providing access to Thai legal information in English. The site includes free access to the bi-annual Thailand Law Journal. This journal contains scholarly articles written by Thai and international academics concerning Thailand law. Articles can be downloaded in HTML. The site also offers translations of business related legislation and summaries of Supreme Court opinions back to 2005.
