Australian Centre for Agriculture and Law

Website of the Australian Centre for Agriculture and Law, a joint project of the Faculty of Economics, Business and Law (EBL), the Faculty of the Sciences and the School of Law at the University of New England in Australia. The Centre carries out research and special projects for the Australian agricultural industries. Brief details of research projects are given on the site along with news stories relating to the Centre. Links are provided to PDF files of some of the Centre's publications and research papers written or co-authored by the Centre's staff and Research Associates.

Family Justice Council

The Family Justice Council (FJC) was set up by the Department of Constitutional Affairs (DCA) following the consultation paper, 'Promoting inter-agency working in the family justice system' published in 2002. The purpose of the FJC is to "promote an inter-disciplinary approach to the needs of family justice" and their work includes identifying best practice in the family justice system and consulting with government departments on current policy. Harry A. Blackmun Papers

Online guide to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmun's papers produced by the Manuscript Reading Room at the Library of Congress where the collection is housed and made freely available on their website. The collection includes papers from 1913 to 2001 with most of the material covering Justice Blackmun's time as a judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and as an associate justice of the Supreme Court.

Judicial Appointments Commission

Website of the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC), an independent non-departmental public body set up in 2005 to select candidates for judicial office. The site has information about the role and history of the Commission and biographical details of the Commissioners. Publications relating to the work of the JAC are available on the site including a business plan and a framework document. There are speeches, news items and details of events. A page describing the selection process is also provided on the site.

Office of the Information Commissioner Ireland

This is the official website of the Information Commissioner who is responsible for overseeing the implementation and operation of the Freedom of Information Act in Ireland. Its website provides access to information about the role of the Commissioner, his/her duties and current activities. It includes access to the full-text legislation, decisions made relating to FOI by the Commissioner, fact sheets, reports and transcripts of speeches from 2001 to date. Selected decisions of the Commissioner can be viewed on the site.

Singapore Academy of Law

The Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) is a membership organisation for the legal profession in Singapore. Its website has historical, financial, and corporate information about SAL, along with news updates, membership details and a directory of senior counsel in Singapore. The Digital Library provides full access to Law Reform Committee Publications and LawNet Papers, as well as access to selected articles from the SAL Journal, the Inter Se journal and the Asian Journal on Mediation. A number of SAL speeches and lectures are available as well.

New York State Law Revision Commission

Website of the New York State Law Revision Commission whose role is to examine defects and anachronisms in state law and make recommendations for reform. The site has information on the purpose and organisation of the Commission and profiles of Commission members. Recent Commission meeting notices as well as studies and reports are made freely available on the site in PDF format. A few webcasts of reports and meetings concerning the Commission's Alcoholic Beverage Control Law study are also available through Windows Media, Adobe Flash, or low speed video.

Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute

Website of the Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute (CJEI) based at the Dalhousie Law School in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The CJEI forms a network of Commonwealth judicial education bodies providing judicial education programmes and teaching tools. The site provides information on patrons and recent as well as upcoming events organised by the CJEI. A selection of in-house newsletters, bulletins and speeches are made freely available in PDF format.

Uniform Law Commission

The Uniform Law Commission (National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws) is a non-profit organisation in the United States, made up of lawyers appointed by state governments to review state laws and foster uniformity. The site provides a copy of the ULC constitution and details of commissioners and standing committees. A copy of the drafting manual can be downloaded and there is a database of uniform and model acts which can be browsed by title or state.

WATCH File

The WATCH File (Writers, Artists, and Their Copyright Holders) is a database providing contact details for copyright holders who have unpublished material in libraries in North America and the United Kingdom. WATCH is aimed at scholars who may wish to use this material. The database is produced jointly by the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at The University of Texas and the University of Reading Library. WATCH is searchable by name and a number of search tips are provided.
