Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice

The Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice (CIAJ) is a non-profit organisation whose aim is to improve the quality of justice in Canada. Website of the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs (OCFJA) the Canadian body whose role is to provide administrative support to the federal judiciary and safeguard its independence. The Commissioner is also responsible for the administration of federal judicial appointments and the site includes information and guidance on the appointments process. Avocats Sans Frontières

Avocats Sans Frontières (ASF) is a Belgium-based international NGO. Its membership mostly consists of lawyers and its aim is to promote justice and the rule of law, and to defend the civil, political and other rights of the most vulnerable people in the world. The group's "Lawyers for Lawyers" project aims to support human rights lawyers whose professional independence is under threat. Press releases, a free newsletter, activity reports and other publications are available on the website, plus details of ASF seminars and training. Legal Service of the European Commission

The Legal Service of the European Commission is the in-house legal adviser to the Commission. Its functions include drafting legislation and representing the Commission in the courts. The Legal Service is also responsible for coordinating the official codification of Community legislation. Open Society Justice Initiative

The Open Society Justice Initiative is a programme of the Open Society Institute, a private foundation established by the philanthropist George Soros in 1993. It is concerned with the promotion of law reform, the protection human rights and the development of international law. The site gives details of current and past activities, covering areas such as national criminal justice reform, international justice, freedom of information and expression, equality and citizenship, anti-corruption and development of legal capacity.

Justice and Home Affairs Council

The Justice and Home Affairs Council (JHA) brings together justice and interior ministers from the EU member states to make collective decisions on justice and home affairs policy; it is one of the configurations of the Council of the European Union. Directorate General for the Environment

Website of the European Commission's Directorate-General for the Environment. The Directorate's main role is to develop and monitor the EU's environment policy. The Policies and Resources sections provide a large amount of information and documentation concerning the work of the D-G, in areas including climate change, land use, nature and biodiversity, sustainable development, waste and water. The site provides background information on different aspects of personal injury including damages and awards and tort law. It also provides detailed information on personal injury claims such as medical malpractice, car accidents, product liability, brain injury and workers' compensation. LawTroves are a selection of legal resource guides compiled by United States law firm Swiggart & Agin, LLC.
