Guide to legal research in Norway

Online guide to Norwegian legal research by Rebecca J. Five Bergstrøm, an academic librarian at the University of Oslo. Published on New York University's Globalex website and updated periodically, it gives an introduction and brief history of Norway and the Norwegian legal system, with references to key works on the legal system.

Justia Regulation Tracker

Website providing access to US federal and state regulations. Allows users to search the Federal Register, in which federal regulations are published, or to browse it by federal department / agency. Also provides links to US state regulations and to the websites of federal agencies. Justia is a California-based legal media and technology company providing free access to online legal materials and other value added services. 

Human rights: 800 years of human rights in the United Kingdom explored using original documents from the National Archives

Online exhibition created by the National Archives, last updated in 2008. Provides free access to a large collection of primary source materials relating to human rights in the UK from 1215 to 1945. Users may browse a timeline, view supporting images and read background information. There is also a glossary of terms. Topics include Magna Carta; the Peasants' Revolt; women's rights; and trade unions.

OECD Legal Instruments

Database of legal instruments adopted by the Council of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Includes decisions, recommendations and conventions, browseable by subject, type, title, date, reference number or committee. There are also basic and advanced search facilities. The database is available in English and French.

Public procurement

This European Commission site provides a substantial amount of information about EU public procurement rules and policy. Legislation, guidelines, reports and explanatory notes are available, plus details of consultations and general information about remedies, public private partnerships, electronic public procurement and defence procurement. International aspects of public procurement are covered and there is news of the Commission's activities to counter infringements of the rules. The site is in English and can be translated into other EU languages automatically. 

Basic Law of Hong Kong

This Hong Kong government website makes available the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (HKSAR). The Basic Law came into effect on 1 July 1997 when China resumed sovereignty over Hong Kong. As well as providing the text of the law, the site has background information about it and outlines its general principles. 

LegiRwanda: Lexbase

Official Rwanda law portal, providing laws, orders and regulations in force, arranged by subject, and selected decisions of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court and Commercial High Court. There are basic and advanced search facilities and the site is available in Kinyarwanda, French and English.
