A number of special supplements and details of awards and events are also provided. A searchable archive extending back to 1994 is also available

Website of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law (SAIIPL) an organisation established in 1954 to represent patent agents and trade mark practitioners practising in South Africa. The site has information about SAIIPL including a copy of the Institute's Constitution, Code of Ethics and Regulations. Background information, explaining basic intellectual property terms, is given on the site There is also a register of members including contact details.

The Bar of Ireland

Website of the Irish Bar, the regulatory body for barristers practising in Ireland. The site has background information about the Bar, a directory of barristers and guidance on instructing counsel directly. It also covers standards, qualifications and the Irish court system. Commentary on selected pieces of legislation is available and there is a page of links to other Irish legal sites as well as a glossary and a list of Irish legal publishers. Parts of the site are restricted to members only.

Australian Lawyers Directory

Online directory of lawyers practising in Australia. Australian Lawyers Directory lists all Australian Solicitors firms and Barristers and can be searched by name, legal practice area or state. Practice areas include a wide range of legal subjects such as building and construction law, conveyancing, employment law, environmental and planning law and intellectual property law. Entries provide contact details with some including website addresses, emails and profiles of the firm. The directory also has several pages of links to other Australian websites.

Association du Barreau Canadien - Division Québec

Website of the Quebec Division of the Association du Barreau Canadien (abcqc.qc.ca) representing members of the legal profession in the province of Quebec. There are sections covering the function and purpose of the Association, the work of committees covering specialist subject areas, a programme of events and a recent news section. The Association publishes a journal entitled "Point de Mire" and the current issue and back issues since June 2002 are available in full-text in PDF format.

Barreau du Québec

Official website of the Barreau du Québec (Bar Association of Quebec). Key sections of the site cover services to members, services for the general public and Bar publications. The organisation publishes two journals, which are freely available on the website in full-text: Journal du Barreau ( 1996 - ), which provides articles and news, and Revue du Barreau (1999 - 2005), which includes more substantial articles. There is also a monthly e-newsletter, Le Bref (2007 - ), and searchable databases of Bar members and mediators.

Lögmannafélag Íslands

Website of the Icelandic Bar Association, which represents lawyers practising in Iceland. The site has a limited amount of information in English and Danish, but it is mostly in Icelandic. There is a directory of lawyers which can be browsed by region or by practice area.

Society of Writers to Her Majesty's Signet

Website of the Society of Writers to Her Majesty's Signet (WS Society), a society of Scottish solicitors based in Edinburgh. The site has information about the WS Society including its history and details of staff and committees. There is also information regarding the Society's professional education programmes and seminars for solicitors, the Signet Library which is open to non-members and Scottish legal news.

International Lawyers Network

The International Lawyers Network (ILN) has members in more than 60 countries, with expertise in areas such as corporate and commercial law, securities law, taxation, commercial litigation and employment law. The site provides details of members, the ILN bulletin and guides to doing business in Switzerland, Canada, Australia, Singapore, France, Lithuania and Argentina.
