Death Penalty Worldwide

This website provides information and analysis relating to death penalty law and practice in around 90 countries. It was established by Professor Sandra Babcock of the Center for International Human Rights at Northwestern Law School's Bluhm Legal Clinic in the US, in partnership with the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty. The site’s main component is the Death Penalty Database, covering capital offences; treaty ratifications; national and international cases; methods of execution; statistics on death sentences and executions; and other topics.

Canada Treaty Information

Official website published by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, to explain the treaty-making process and policy in Canada, with definitions of treaties and details of how treaties are published. There is also an introduction to the work of the Treaty Law Division of Canada. A list of Canadian treaties is presented, which can be searched and displayed by treaty type (bilateral, multilateral, and plurilateral) or by text words or subject matter. The entry for each treaty indicates the place and date of signature, the date of entry into force, parties, and subject matter.

International Olympic Committee

Official website of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) which since 1894 has been the international non-governmental organisation carrying final authority for the Olympic Movement. The site provides information about the composition, organisation, governance and financing of the IOC and includes a list of members who represent the IOC in their respective countries. Legislative functions are conducted by the Executive Board, which enacts regulations implementing the Olympic Charter, assisted by functional commissions responsible for areas such as ethics and sport and law.

Olympic Charter

The Olympic Charter is the founding document of the Olympic Movement, setting out the legal status of the International Olympic Committee and the required and exclusive role of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in dealing with mediation in any disputes arising in relation with the Olympic Games.

International Resources

Gateway to web resources for specific areas of international law, provided by Washburn University School of Law in the United States. The areas of law are listed alphabetically, from “Administrative law resources – international” to “Water law – international”, and for each area links to key websites are given. The resources covered include electronic journals, case law, bibliographies, treaties and more.

WIPO Lex

Free global database of domestic laws and treaties relating to intellectual property, provided by the World Intellectual Property Organization. Both bilateral and multilateral treaties are included. The database can be either searched or browsed. Many of the national laws and bilateral treaties are in the vernacular, but some English translations are provided. The interface is available in English, French, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese.

Official website of the Monaco Red Cross / La Croix-Rouge Monégasque, carrying information about the organisation's operations and actions in Monaco and around the world. There is an archive of press releases and news stories. The site is presented in English and French language versions.
