Travel Law Quarterly

Website of Travel Law Quarterly (TLQ) which is published by the Leisure Industries Section of the International Bar Association. TLQ is aimed at travel industry professionals, lawyers and students and covers topics such as “travel agency, tour operations, cruise law, air law, timeshare, hotel law as well as the regulation and licensing of the travel industry”. The full journal is available by subscription but TLQ Online, which provides additional content, is freely available on the website.

Nanotechnology and International Law Research Guide

Online guide to nanotechnology and its relation to international law written by Mohammad Ershadul Karim who is a  Senior Lecture at the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya. The guide was published in 2014 (and updated in 2023) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The guide provides an introduction and history to nanotechnology. There are links to nanotechnology databases, United Nations publications, European initiatives and other organisations concerned with nanotechnology.

Special Tribunal for Lebanon: an introduction and research guide

Online research guide to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon written by Martin Wählisch and updated by Lara Eid Jreissati who is an international lawyer specialising in International Criminal Law, Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law. The guide was published in 2012 (and updated in 2022) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School at the New York University School of Law. The author provides history and background to events leading to the establishment of the Tribunal.

UNCTAD Investment Dispute Settlement Navigator

Compilation of information about pending and concluded arbitrations from 1987 onwards, provided on the UNCTAD website. ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC and other cases are covered. For concluded cases, the information provided includes dates, parties and countries, the type of investment, the legal instrument involved, the arbitration rules/venue, brief details of the decision, the amount sought and the amount awarded. Cambridge Journal of International and Comparative Law

Open-access online journal published three times a year by the University of Cambridge. The Journal was first published in 2012; it covers international and comparative law and related domestic, regional, transnational and international legal regimes. An annual special issue is devoted to analysing the work of the UK Supreme Court in the previous judicial year. Contributions are subject to a double-blind peer review process. The CJICL website provides all issues of the journal free of charge, in pdf format. The site also has a blog and gives details of the Journal’s annual conference

The Tallinn Manual

The ‘Tallinn Manual on the International Law Applicable to Cyber Warfare’ is the outcome of three years’ work by an independent group of international law experts - scholars and practitioners - on the application of existing norms of international law to cyber warfare. It is made up of rules of customary international law developed and adopted by the group of experts, annotated with commentary. It is available free of charge on the website of NATO’s Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCD COE); it was also published by Cambridge University Press, in 2013.

Universal Human Rights Index

Database of country-specific human rights information, provided by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees, originally developed at the University of Bern. The Index brings together recommendations, reports, concluding observations from the different parts of the UN human rights protection system: the Treaty Bodies, the Special Procedures and the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).

Qatar Law Forum

Qatar Law Forum is an international conference hosted in Doha under the patronage of the Emir of Qatar. It aims to discuss the Rule of Law and related issues of international law and has been convened twice, in 2009 and 2012. The forum’s English website provides links to news articles relating to the forum and also provides documents on the discussions including newsletters, the text of some of the speeches and a discussion paper on the role of ethics in finance. The site also features YouTube clips of the conference and photographs.

ATRIO: Archivio dei Trattati Internazionali Online

ATRIO (formerly 'ITRA') is a treaty database maintained by the Italian Foreign Affairs Ministry. It contains information about Italian treaties in force and provides the full text of many treaties. For information about a particular treaty's place of signature, date in force and so on, click on ‘Vedi Dettaglio’ (‘See Details’). ATRIO is mostly in Italian, but some of the treaties are in English or other languages.

Jurispedia

Jurispedia, the shared law, is an academic project utilising an open source Wiki format which aims to offer information about all of the laws of every country in the world and is concerned with systems of law as well as legal and political sciences. The service provides information about the law and user-contributed articles relating to thirty countries currently.
