State patent bureau of the Republic of Lithuania

Official website of the State patent bureau of the Republic of Lithuania (Lietuvos Respublikos valstybinis patentu). The Bureau is an executive body of the Republic of Lithuania, State budgetary agency, responsible for the legal protection of industrial property (inventions, designs, trademarks and service marks, semiconductor product topographies) in Lithuania. The website makes available the Bureau’s Official Gazette and annual reports, together with databases of Lithuanian trademarks, designs and patents.

Archivo Histórico

The Historical Archive is part of the Oficina Española de Patentes y Marcas (OEPM) site, an official government site in Spain which handles patents, trademarks and related issues. The Archive has been maintained and developed as a joint project with the Universidad Autonóma de Madrid since 1999. It includes searchable databases covering the history of privileges (1826-1878), patent applications (1878-1966) and trade marks (1865-1910). For each database, guidance is given regarding background, search strategy and fields available.

Latvian intellectual property laws

Website of the Latvian intellectual property law firm LATISS. Available in Latvian, Russian, Estonian and English, the site provides a complete and up to date list of all intellectual property legislation in force in Latvia, including the laws on industrial design, trademarks and patents. Links are provided in many, but not all, cases to the full text (in English) of those laws. There is also a complete and up to date list of all intellectual property international treaties and conventions to which Latvia is a signatory.

Oficina Española de Patentes y Marcas

The OEPM is an Spanish official body which handles patents, trademarks and related issues. Different sections of its website provide guidance relating to trade marks and distinctive signs, industrial intellectual property, industrial design and inventions. Press releases can be searched by date and subject area. A wide selection of different databases is available; some offer free access and other require individual subscription. Recent issues of the “Boletín Oficial de la Propriedad Industria BOPI” are available.

inpi.fr: Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle: marques, brevets, sociétés, dessins, modèles

Inpi is a French public body with responsibility for industrial and intellectual property. It helps to formulate public policy on intellectual property in France, and it registers and grants patents, trademarks, models and designs. One of its aims is to publish information on industrial property in France. The databases provided on this website include trademarks, patents, designs, models and many decisions of the French courts dealing with intellectual property. The BOPI, Bulletins Officiels de la Propriété Industrielle, are also available.

Eugene F. Collins

This Irish law firm website provides commentary on Irish legal developments, in its Publications section. The areas of law covered include company law, banking, employment, European Union, competition, immigration, intellectual property, information technology, litigation, dispute resolution, media and property.

WIPO Lex

Free global database of domestic laws and treaties relating to intellectual property, provided by the World Intellectual Property Organization. Both bilateral and multilateral treaties are included. The database can be either searched or browsed. Many of the national laws and bilateral treaties are in the vernacular, but some English translations are provided. The interface is available in English, French, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese.

Voisin is a Jersey legal firm. The site provides free access to a series of briefings on Jersey legal topics given on the Expertise pages. Areas covered include banking and finance, property, employment and capital markets.

Monaco Lawyer

A resource site and blog proving access to information about Monaco law including topics such as financial services, intellectual property, investment, residency, and taxation. The site is sponsored by the Monaco office of international law firm Berg and Duffy, LLP. The site includes selected legislation in original French text, unofficial translation into English and official translations where they are available. Information is freely available on site which also offers a login account facility for the blog.

Cyberspace Law

Online guide to cyberspace law made freely available on the Legalmatch website. Legalmatch is a US based lawyer directory. The guide has annotated links to articles, reports, bibliographies, news sites and other guides to internet law. The links are organised under the following headings: commerce; cyber-crime; freedom of expression; privacy and intellectual property. The emphasis is on United States law throughout.
