The Law Donut web resource provides practical legal information aimed at small businesses. Information on the site is arranged by topic including finding, buying and selling a business, insolvency, trading law, remuneration and pensions, intellectual property and premises. Each section gives an overview to the law in that area along with practical advice and guidance. There is a more detailed section on employment law for small businesses covering issues such as health and safety, discipline and grievance, recruiting and managing staff and employment contracts.

Employment factsheets

Selection of factsheets on employment law topics produced and made freely available online by Hallett Employment Law Services Ltd, a United Kingdom based law firm. The factsheets provide guidance and information on a range of employment law topics which can be browsed alphabetically or searched by keyword. Topics covered include flexible working, minimum wage, harassment, unfair dismissal, redundancy and retirement. Factsheets can be viewed in full in HTML.

Indigenous and Tribal Peoples

This section of the International Labour Organization (ILO) website deals with the employment rights of indigenous and tribal peoples. There is background information on the ILOãs work with indigenous and tribal peoples and details of ILO projects designed to provide support and assistance to these people and to governments. Full text copies of international legal instruments promoting the rights of indigenous and tribal peoples are provided on the site along with their ratifications and an account of the effects these conventions have had.

Employment Court of New Zealand

Official website of the New Zealand Employment Court which has jurisdiction over all matters relating to employment disputes. The site provides information on the history, role and structure of the court and gives an outline of the key pieces of legislation that resulted in the setting up of the Court. There is guidance on taking a case to the Employment Court including a link to the full text of the Employment Court Regulations 2000. All the related forms are available to download. Full text judgements are available from 2006 onwards and can be downloaded in PDF.

Labour laws of Japan

Collection of Japanese employment acts, in English and Japanese, provided by the Japan Institute for Labour Policy and Training. The acts cover topics including contracts, standards, equality, insurance, part-time working, industrial relations and health and safety.

Safe Workers

The Safe Workers website is an advice and information resource focusing on workplace safety and UK employment law. The site brings together a collection of articles providing background information and practical advice on a range of employment law topics. Articles are organised by topic, including discrimination at work, employee relations, workplace safety and workplace bullying. All articles can be searched by keyword.

National Women's Law Center

Website of the National Women's Law Center (NWLC), a US-based organisation concerned with using litigation and law reform to improve the lives of low-income women and their families. Policy documents and news items are provided on issues such as: childcare and early education; poverty and income support; gender equity in education; workplace fairness and flexibility; affordable healthcare; reproductive rights; judges and the courts; retirement security and taxation. The site also has background information about the Center and details of its publications and campaigns.

American Immigration Lawyers Association

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is an organisation for attorneys and academics in the field of immigration law. Its website provides immigration news and AILA policy briefs, continuing legal education, information about AILA publications, including the AILA Journal, and videos. There is also a blog, Think Immigration, and a state-by-state guide to ethics and professional conduct for lawyers.

Human Law

Human Law (formerly Human Law Mediation) is the blog of UK solicitor and commercial mediator, Justin Patten. Established in 2002, it focuses on employment law and mediation and includes posts on subjects such as dispute resolution, litigation, workplace conflict and personal injury.
