Citizens Advice

Help and guidance for the general public in the UK on law and rights relating to privacy, benefits, housing, employment, debt, discrimination, consumer protection, immigration and other topics. The site is produced by Citizens Advice, a charity. Where appropriate, users are directed to additional sources of expert advice. It is in Welsh and English.

Public Justice

Washington DC-based non-profit law firm, founded in 1982 and formerly known as Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. Public Justice brings cases to counter abuses of corporate power, the undermining of civil rights/civil liberties and threats to the environment. Its website has details of its work, including a list of cases, with legal briefs and opinions (judgments) attached. A podcast and a blog are available and there is a sign-up form for the Public Justice newsletter.

Bundesarbeitsgericht

Website for the Bundesarbeitsgericht (Federal Labour Court), the highest federal court in Germany for cases concerning all aspects of employment law. The site is made freely available on the internet and includes background information on the history, organisation and structure of the court, together with details of the appointment of judges, lay members and research associates.

Western Industrial Relations Commission Decisions

An AustLII database containing full text decisions from the Western Industrial Relations Commission from 2017 onwards. Decisions made between 1991 and 2016 are available from the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission Decisions page on AustLII. Decisions can be searched or browsed by case name or date. AustLII, the Australasian Legal Information Institute is a collaborative public service developed by the University of Technology to provide free Internet access to legislation and cases for Australia.

South Australian Industrial Relations Court Decisions

An AustLII database containing decisions from the South Australian Industrial Relations Court from 1992 onwards. Decisions are in full-text HTML format based on documents selected and supplied by the Court. Decisions can be searched or browsed by case name or date. AustLII, the Australasian Legal Information Institute is a collaborative public service developed by the University of Technology to provide free Internet access to legislation and cases for Australia. Industrial law databases are developed with support from Australian Business Limited.

Employment Insurance Jurisprudence Library

A searchable database of Canadian insurance jurisprudence including Canadian Umpire Benefits decisions, Federal Court decisions and Supreme Court decisions along with a number of related Provincial Court and Human Rights Tribunal decisions. A collection of the most important decisions can be searched separately. Materials are carried in full-text and presented in HTML format. Help notes on searching the database are provided. The service is made freely available online by the Minister of Public Works and Government Services in Ottawa, Ontario.

Employment Law Guide

Website of the Employment Law Guide a freely available resource provided by the United States Department of Labor (DOL). The Guide provides information on major statutes and regulations administered by the DOL that affect businesses and workers. The Guide is arranged into sections which include wages and hours worked, health and safety standards, health benefits, retirement and workersã compensation, work authorisation for non-US citizens and federal contracts. Reference is also made to laws relating to the agriculture, construction and mining industries.

Law Donut

The Law Donut web resource provides practical legal information aimed at small businesses. Information on the site is arranged by topic including finding, buying and selling a business, insolvency, trading law, remuneration and pensions, intellectual property and premises. Each section gives an overview to the law in that area along with practical advice and guidance. There is a more detailed section on employment law for small businesses covering issues such as health and safety, discipline and grievance, recruiting and managing staff and employment contracts.

Employment factsheets

Selection of factsheets on employment law topics produced and made freely available online by Hallett Employment Law Services Ltd, a United Kingdom based law firm. The factsheets provide guidance and information on a range of employment law topics which can be browsed alphabetically or searched by keyword. Topics covered include flexible working, minimum wage, harassment, unfair dismissal, redundancy and retirement. Factsheets can be viewed in full in HTML.

Indigenous and Tribal Peoples

This section of the International Labour Organization (ILO) website deals with the employment rights of indigenous and tribal peoples. There is background information on the ILOãs work with indigenous and tribal peoples and details of ILO projects designed to provide support and assistance to these people and to governments. Full text copies of international legal instruments promoting the rights of indigenous and tribal peoples are provided on the site along with their ratifications and an account of the effects these conventions have had.
