Japan Institute for Labour Policy and Training

The Japan Institute of Labour Policy and Training works under the supervision of the Ministry of Labour. It is engaged in the comprehensive research and study of labour problems.The Institute collects and classifies information and data both domestically and internationally. Another important role of the Japan Institute of Labour is to inform labour, management and the general public in order to deepen understanding and knowledge of labour problems.

International Labour Organization (ILO)

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is a specialised agency of the United Nations which seeks to promote employment rights, human rights and social justice. The website gives details of the ILO's history, structure and work programmes. It provides numerous free databases of labour-related information and documentation, including national labour laws, international labour standards, treaty information, statistics and a bibliography compiled by the ILO Library.

Employment Relations Tribunal

Official website of the Employment Relations Tribunal of the Republic of Mauritius. This is a quasi-judicial body which hears industrial disputes and delivers awards. It was created following a merger between the Permanent Arbitration Tribunal and the Civil Service Arbitration Tribunal in February 2009. The site gives history and background information to the Tribunal and details of its members. Details of awards made by the Tribunal can be viewed on the site in PDF or Word for each year from 1995 onwards.

Workplace Relations Commission

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) is an independent statutory body whose role is to provide a workplace relations service and employment rights framework for employers and employees in Ireland. The WRC provides services to employers and employees relating to good working practices assisting and advising organisations on all aspects of industrial relations in the workplace. WRC services cover adjudication, mediation, conciliation and advice. They also carry out investigations to ensure compliance with equality and employment-related legislation.

Industrial Tribunals and Fair Employment Tribunal

Official Website of the Northern Ireland Industrial Tribunals and Fair Employment Tribunal. These are independent judicial bodies that deal with complaints brought under various employment protection legislation. The site provides a selection of FAQs with information on applying to a tribunal and covering issues such as what the hearing involves, representation and expenses. There is also information on the types of complaints that are heard by the tribunals and application forms which can be downloaded from the site.

The site has information about ELA including details of their legislative and pro bono work and training and events.The online members' directory can be searched by name, firm, location or employment speciality. Parts of the site are restricted to members only.

Labor Law Talk

Labor Law Talk is a moderated United States based message forum focusing on employment law issues. The emphasis is on US law and topics include working hours, pay, discrimination, disability and wrongful dismissal. The site is free to use but you are required to register before you can post messages on the discussion forums. An archive of postings can be browsed by forum and a selection of FAQs provide advice on using Labor Law Talk. The site links to other web resources providing free employment law information.
