The Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) was established in 1966. It is a leading independent US body which campaigns and litigates for the protection of US civil liberties and international human rights. Its website provides information on the aims of the organisation and its campaigns. It includes access to press releases, case notes, campaign materials and full-text pamphlets and reports.

Sussex European Institute

Sussex European Institute (SEI) is a research centre based at the University of Sussex and a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence. It specialises in teaching and research in the broad areas European integration, representative politics and the politics of ethnicity, citizenship and migration, taking an interdisciplinary approach. The website provides detailed information on the aims and activities of the Institute. It includes access to SEI working papers (mid-1995 to date), SEI seminar papers (2006 to date) and the in-house newsletter 'Euroscope' (2000 to date).

Human Rights Research and Education Centre

The Human Rights Research and Education Centre is an independent centre within the University of Ottawa in Canada. The site provides background information along with details of courses and research projects. The Virtual Human Rights Library has links to an extensive collection of Canadian and international human rights resources including databases, ejournals and newsletters. Annual reports of the Centre are provided in HTML along with copies of the Centre's e-bulletin and a collection of free online reports and articles. Parts of the site are password protected.

UCL Centre for Law and Environment

Website of the UCL Centre for Law and Environment which was established in 2001 and is based in the Faculty of Laws at University College London. The aim of the Centre is to "advance research and teaching and explore the role of law in meeting contemporary environmental challenges". The site gives information on the work of the Centre including courses, seminars and conferences. Details are given of members research activities including the Carbon Capture Legal Programme and the Satellites and the Law projects.

Website of the National Institute of Criminology (OKRI) a Hungary based research organisation established in 1960. The site describes the history and structure of the OKRI, gives profiles of staff and details of ongoing and past research projects. Bibliographic references are given for OKRI publications searchable by title, keyword and author. Coverage is given of statistical information arising from OKRI's research along with a page of related websites. The site can be viewed in English and Hungarian.

Institute for the Study of International Migration, Georgetown University

The Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM) is part of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and affiliated with the Law Center at Georgetown University. The ISIM is engaged in research and teaching covering all areas of international migration, U.S. immigration and refugee law and policy. The site has details of academic programmes and training courses and outlines of current research projects. A list of ISIM publications can be viewed by author or topic and a selection of articles and working papers are made freely available in full-text.

Brown v. Board of Education Digital Archive

A digital archive containing documents and images relating to Brown v. Board of Education a landmark case which ended legal segregation in American schools in the 1950's. The archive is hosted by the University of Michigan Library in the United States. The site has summaries of, and links to the full-text of Supreme Court cases relating to segregation issues in U.S. schools along with a selection of reports relating specifically to desegregation in Ann Arbor.

Trade Law Centre for Southern Africa

The Trade Law Centre for Southern Africa (tralac) is an independent non-profit company which was established in 2002 to provide research, advice and training on trade law issues relevant to Southern Africa. Full text books and reports of tralac can be downloaded from the site. These cover topics such as regional trade agreements, trade in particular goods and services, dispute settlement and intellectual property.

VERTIC

VERTIC is an independent, non-profit-making research organisation which verifies and monitors international agreements relating to disarmament, peace and environmental protection. Publications available on the website include VERTIC's newsletter, Trust and Verify, as well as briefings, reports, occasional papers and factsheets. The site also provides a collection of national legislation implementing the Biological Weapons Convention, other national implementation information and a database concerning weapons inspections in Iraq. There is also a section devoted to treaties.

Birzeit University Institute of Law

Website of the Institute of Law at Birzeit University in Palestine which was established in 1993 to provide legal research and education and to contribute to "the evolution of legal structures and the rule of law in Palestine". The website has information about courses run at the Institute and details of current research projects. Details of the Institute's publications are given on the site. Some of these are made freely available online as PDF or HTML documents and appear in Arabic or English.
