Judiciary of Malta

Website of the Judiciary of Malta, covering the work of judges, magistrates, judicial assistants and jurors. The Judiciary section includes information on the superior and lower courts. as well as a diagram of the court system (under 'Administration'). The site also covers judicial appointments and disciplinary proceedings, and makes available the Code of Ethics for the Judiciary, speeches by the Chief Justice and a legal history of Malta from 1530 to 1798.

Lawyers Defence Group

Website of the Lawyers Defence Group, an organisation providing advice and guidance for legal professionals on regulatory, conduct, practice, partnership and employment issues. The service is run by Richard Nelson LLP and Murdochs Solicitors. The site has information outlining the role of the various regulators including the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the Bar Standards Board and the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.

Canadian IT Law Association

Website of the Canadian IT Law Association (IT.Can), a professional organisation for Canadian information technology lawyers. IT.Can promotes the development and discussion of IT law through annual conferences, other events and production of a bi-monthly newsletter. Information on past and future conferences and training events and PDF copies of the newsletter are available on the site. Details are given of IT.Can committees dealing with privacy, e-commerce and outsourcing. There are documents and links relevant to outsourcing law and practice negotiations.

National Judicial College of Australia

Website of the National Judicial College of Australia, the organisation that provides training and professional development for judicial officers in Australia. The site has details of Council members and other officials and details of courses offered by the College. There is information on past and future conferences held by the College, including conference papers; other publications include a copy of the National Curriculum for professional development for Australian judicial officers and a report on judicial education in Australia. Parts of the site are password-protected.

International Institute of Space Law

Website of the International Institute of Space Law (IISL), a membership organisation founded in 1960 and based in France. The purpose of the IISL is cooperation with national and international space law organisations and the development of space law. The site provides information about the Institute's activities, which include annual colloquia and joint symposia with the European Centre for Space. Standing committee reports, an online newsletter and conference and workshop proceedings are available. There is also information about the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition.

Energy and Mineral Law Foundation

The Energy and Mineral Law Foundation (EMLF) is an educational organisation which promotes the study of law relating to energy and natural resources. EMLF membership is drawn from law firms, law schools, mineral companies and trade and professional associations supporting the mineral industry. The site provides a directory of members and details of educational events; white papers and conference materials are also available. Parts of the site are restricted to members.

National Legal Aid

Website of National Legal Aid (NLA), the organisation representing the state Legal Aid Commissions in Australia. The NLA seeks to improve leadership and management of the legal aid system by means of cooperation and knowledge-sharing. The independent Legal Aid Commissions provide access to legal information, advice and representation for people in their states or territories who are unable to afford the services of a private lawyer. The NLA site gives access to contact details and websites of each of the Legal Aid Commissions.

ASEAN Law Association

Website of the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Law Association, a non-governmental professional organisation which brings together members of the legal profession in ASEAN countries. The site provides historical and organisational information about the ALA. Publications and speeches of members from the various countries can be freely downloaded.
