American Society of International Law

Website of the American Society of International Law (ASIL) a not for profit, educational organisation established in 1906. ASIL's members include lawyers, academics, corporate counsel, judges and representatives of governments and nongovernmental organisations. ASIL is concerned with a broad range of international law topics including human rights and humanitarian law, trade and investment, development, women and international law and international institutions. The site provides access to publications, events and research tools covering these subject areas.

Arbitral Women

Website of Arbitral Women, a membership organisation for women working in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. Members are based in over 30 countries. Contact details and profiles of members are available in an online directory which can be searched or browsed. The "Find a Practitioner" facility enables users to search for members using more detailed criteria including practice area, type of practitioner, country of residence, language etc.

International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists

Website of the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists (IAJLJ) a membership organisation made up of lawyers, judges, judicial officers and academic jurists in more than 50 countries. The IAJLJ is concerned with human rights issues and in particular issues affecting Jewish people and works to "combat racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, Holocaust denial and negation of the State of Israel.÷ The site gives information about the organisation and its officers, details of events and provides access to IAJLJ policy statements.

Sveriges advokatsamfund

Website of the Swedish Bar Association, the organisation representing Sweden's practising lawyers. The site provides an article giving background information on the legal profession in Sweden and the role and functions of the Bar Association. Rules and regulations governing lawyers can be downloaded from the site including the Charter of the Swedish Bar Association, the Code of Conduct and the Code of Conduct for European Lawyers. A directory of members can be searched by name, firm, location, language and area of law and there is guidance on making a complaint against a member.

CMNI Bar Association

Website of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Bar Association the professional body representing lawyers of the Northern Mariana Islands in the North Pacific. The site provides details of officers and committee chairs, by-laws of the Association and a directory of membersã which can be searched or browsed. The CMNI Bar Association holds an annual mock trial competition for High School students in the Northern Mariana Islands details of which are given for the current and previous years. A page of related web links is also provided.

World Society of Mixed Jurisdiction Jurists

Website of the World Society of Mixed Jurisdiction Jurists (WSMJJ) an organisation made up of law faculties, individuals and international organisations whose aim is to study jurisdictions with mixed legal systems (including both civil law and common law traditions) around the world. These include South Africa, Scotland, Israel, Quebec, the Philippines and Puerto Rico. The site gives contact details for officers and members, information on conferences and events held by the Society and publications produced by WSMJJ. 

Colegio Nacional de Abogados de Panama

Website of the National Bar Association of Panama. The site provides information about the Bar Association including the names of the Board of Directors, details of fees and a copy of the Code of Ethics. There are laws relating to the legal profession in Panama and an information bulletin providing details of news and events arranged by the Association. The site is available in Spanish throughout.

Society of Advocates in Aberdeen

Website of the Society of Advocates in Aberdeen, an organisation representing lawyers working in the area. The site has general and historical information about the Society and its facilities. There is membership information and contact details are given for members of the Management Committee. The Resources section offers access to the Society's online library catalogue, forthcoming events and a page of related web links.

Legal Information Preservation Alliance

Website of the Legal Information Preservation Alliance (LIPA) an independent organisation of US law libraries concerned with the preservation of printed and electronic legal information. The site gives background information about LIPA including details of member libraries, committee members, news, meetings and reports. There are links given to other digital preservation initiatives, metadata resources, print repositories and copyright materials.

UK Music

UK Music is a research and lobby group representing music creators and publishers. The Policy section of its website includes information about copyright reviews, including UK Music's submissions to government consultations, and an overview of the Live Music Act 2012.
