The Index brings together recommendations, reports, concluding observations from the different parts of the UN human rights protection system: the Treaty Bodies, the Special Procedures and the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).
The Laws and Regulations section of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce website provides access to English translations of Chinese commercial and foreign investment laws and regulations, 1995 onwards. Related announcements and orders and other related policy documents are also accessible from this page.
Database of Taiwanese updated legislation translated into English, provided by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The legislation consists of acts, regulations and directions and includes early instruments such as the Land Act of 1930 (as amended); to display the full text of an instrument, click on ‘Article Content’. Taiwanese treaties are available on this website too, from about 1950 onwards; a large proportion are in English, but many of the earlier ones (roughly 1950s to 1970s) have not been translated.
This website provides English translations of the rulings (‘Interpretations’) of the constitutional court, the Council of Grand Justices of the Republic of China / Taiwan. Interpretations are available from 1949 onwards; they are provided by the Taiwanese judicial authority, or Judicial Yuan. The website also has a database of translated laws from about 1990 onwards.

The News (Aktuellen) section includes a page detailing the latest proposed legislation. The Service section includes a Laws page and a glossary of political terms which includes outlines of government policy on key issues. The main pages are available in German, English and French.
Site of the German Federal Ministry of Justice, which is located in Berlin. Provides information about the role and work of the organisation. Topics covered include citizen’s rights, administration of justice, constitutional/administrative law, human rights, commercial/business law, digital technology and penal law. Users have the option to search the site by keyword, using wildcards/truncation, and can also restrict the search by date, relevance and the type of document required. The main language is German but an English language section is also available.
Collection of Chinese legislation in English translation, made available free of charge by the National People’s Congress (NPC) of the People’s Republic of China. Provides the Constitution and constitutional amendments, together with a large selection of laws and administrative regulations, mainly from the 1990s onwards. Can be browsed by broad subject area (also has a search facility, but this does not seem to work properly).
The Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights is part of the intergovernmental Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). It observes elections, monitors democracy and seeks to foster human rights, tolerance and the rule of law. The Office’s website describes its work, provides press releases and makes available its recommendations, reports, and other publications. On the Resources page there is a Documents Library, an email news service and a multimedia library.
The website of the National Assembly of Cameroon provides information on its organisation, history and a step-by-step guide to the legislative procedure. A profile of the President of the National Assembly is given along with details of members. A number of laws are also provided in PDF. The site can be viewed in French and English.
The European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) was set up by the European Commission in 2010 in response to the financial crisis. It has a mandate to “oversee risk in the financial system as a whole”. Together with the ESA and the EIOPA it forms part of the ESFS (European System of Financial Supervision). The main text of the site, the Annual Report and Board Recommendations are available in a wide range of European languages. Attached explanatory documents are in PDF format and are available in French, German, Italian, Spanish and Polish.
