Cameras in the Streets: Focus on Justice

Online guide looking at the issues arising from the increased use of videotaped information provided by the police and public in legal cases. The guide was written by Ken Strutin, who is Director of Legal Information Services at the New York State Defenders Association and was published in December 2014 on LLRX.com. The author brings together cases, reports, articles, websites and news items that cover privacy issues, use of video as evidence and the civil rights of the videographer. Not all of the resources linked to are freely available. The guide relates to United States law throughout.

There are contact details given for all Jamaican courts as well as links to the websites of the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. Full text (PDF) copies of the Civil Procedure Rules and the Court of Appeal Rules are also provided on the site.

Parliament of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana

Official site of the Parliament of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana. Provides background information about the instituion's history and structure and about political parties. Sections on chamber business and publications cover information about the progress of bills and provide the full text of Speakers’ Rulings, Resolutions and the Constitution; these are mainly in pdf format. A separate media section covers the texts of press releases, speeches in the National Assembly and links to international organisations.

USIP in Haiti

This web page provides information on the work being carried out by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) in Haiti. The USIP is an independent organisation whose aim is to “increase the nation's capacity to manage international conflict without violence”. USIP provides conflict resolution training and assistance with legal reform. This section of the USIP website has information on the organisation’s work in Haiti including reports, articles and factsheets. Topics covered in the publications include provision of justice, peacebuilding and the rule of law.

Website providing access to a selection of Grenadian laws made freely available online by the Grenada Ministry of Legal Affairs. The site is presented in the form of an alphabetic listing of primary and secondary legislation.

Constitution of Jamaica

Online version of the Jamaican Constitution of 1962 made freely available on the Political Database of the Americas at Georgetown University in the United States. The Constitution incorporates amendments up to 1999 and includes chapters covering fundamental rights and freedoms, citizenship, role of parliament and the governor-general and the powers of the executive.

International Law and Consumer Protection: The history of consumer protection
