Parking on Private Land Appeals

Parking on Private Land Appeals (POPLA) is an independent resolution service set up under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 which hears appeals from those who have been issued with parking charge notices in respect of vehicles parked on private land. Additional Support Needs Tribunals for Scotland

Website of the Additional Support Needs Tribunals for Scotland (ASNTS). These tribunals hear cases involving children and young people with learning difficulties. Appeals made by parents and young people against decisions of Education Authorities regarding the provision of educational support are considered along with cases involving disability discrimination. Summaries of tribunal decisions are published on the site and links to relevant legislation and codes of practice are also given.

Bar Tribunals and Adjudication Service

Website of the Bar Tribunal and Adjudication Service (BTAS) the body responsible for appointing and administering the Disciplinary Tribunals for barristers facing charges of professional misconduct. BTAS also appoints and administers panels who consider admission and disciplinary cases brought by the Inns of Court against student members or applicants. There are decisions of the Disciplinary Tribunals, policy and guidance documents and annual reports provided on the site.

Appeals to the Privy Council from the American Colonies: An Annotated Digital Catalogue

Online catalogue of British Privy Council appeals from the 13 colonies that became the United States and from colonies in Canada and the Caribbean heard before the creation of the United States Supreme Court in in 1789. The catalogue was compiled by Sharon Hamby O’Connor and Mary Sarah Bilder and made freely available online by the Ames Foundation in the United States. The catalogue can be searched using a simple keyword search option or by party, participants or counsel. Appeals can also be browsed by colony. Links are given to digital images of original documents.

The Pensions Regulator

The Pensions Regulator is the UK regulator of work-based pension schemes. They work with trustees, employers, pension specialists and business advisers, giving guidance on what is expected of them. Their principal aim is to prevent problems from developing. They use their powers with the aim of putting things right and keeping schemes, and employers on the right track for the long term.

United Nations Documentation

Online guide to using the various tools for finding United Nations documents written by Leah Granger who is a reference librarian at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. The guide was published in 2015) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law.

Official Document System (ODS) of the United Nations

This site provides a search engine for the official UN document repository. It covers all types of official UN documentation, including resolutions of the General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council and Trusteeship Council from 1946 onwards, and documentation from meetings of the General Assembly and its subsidiary bodies. Documents are available in the six official languages of the UN - Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. The site search offers a simple key word search option, an advanced search and links to popular searches.
