Cyberwarfare and collateral damages

The authors provide a definition of cyberwarfare, comparisons with other types of warfare and how it is dealt with under international law. There is a section on collateral damages and victims and examples are given of recent cyberattacks.

Women Lawyers Division

The Women Lawyers’ Division (WLD) is a Law Society group which supports and advises women solicitors in England and Wales, whether or not they are currently practising. The WLD site provides news, advice, feature articles, interviews with women lawyers and details of training events. The Division has an electronic newsletter, for which it is possible to register on the site. In 2013 the WLD absorbed the Association of Women Solcitors (AWS); there is a short history of the AWS on the website.

Public Law for Everyone

An earlier version of the guide was written in 2014 by Susan Gualtier. This version was published in 2022 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law.

Guide to Legal Research in Cuba

Online guide to the law and legal materials of Cuba written by Yasmin Morais who is the Cataloguing and Reference Librarian at the Mason Law Library, University of the District of Columbia. The guide was published in 2015 (and updated in 2024) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The author gives a brief history of Cuba and an overview of the country’s legal system. There are also links to legal sources, government departments, law schools, journals and blogs as well as a reading list.

Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) is the adjudication body responsible for making decisions on doctors’ fitness to practice in the UK. The MPTS was established in 2012 and is funded by but independent of the General Medical Council (GMC). The site has information for doctors and witnesses attending hearings. Full text decisions of the MPTS are provided along with guidance and relevant legislation.

Mercantile Court

Website of the Mercantile Courts which are regional courts of the Queen's Bench Division of the High Court dealing with commercial transactions and disputes. Mercantile Courts are located in a number of UK cities including London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Newcastle. The site provides a detailed Mercantile Court guide and contact details for mercantile judges and clerks.

Parking on Private Land Appeals

Parking on Private Land Appeals (POPLA) is an independent resolution service set up under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 which hears appeals from those who have been issued with parking charge notices in respect of vehicles parked on private land. The site has guidance on making an appeal and a selection of FAQs. POPLA annual reports and a page of links to related websites are also given.
