Charity Law Association

Website of the Charity Law Association, a membership organisation set up in the United Kingdom in 1992 to facilitate communication and the exchange of ideas among lawyers and others interested in charity law. The site publishes some of the Association's briefing papers, responses and comments. Updates to UK charity law are also available. The site includes information on how to join, and the names and addresses of other useful contacts in the charity sector.

Government of the Cook Islands

Official web pages of the Cook Islands government. The site has profiles of the members of the cabinet of the Cook Islands and contact details for all government departments and agencies. There is background information to the geography, economy, population and climate of the Cook Islands and a full-text monthly newsletter providing national and government news.

Victorian Legislation and Parliamentary Documents

Online repository of legislation of Victoria made freely available by the Department of Premier and Cabinet in Melbourne, Australia. The site provides full-text Parliamentary documents including bills currently before Parliament, Victorian Hansard Online and Parliamentary documents for the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council. Archives are available back to 1996. The Victorian Statute Book has acts and statutory rules back to 1996. This material is arranged by date and can be browsed alphabetically or by number or searched by keyword.

A.C.T. Legislation Register

The ACT (Australian Capital Territory) Legislation Register is hosted by the Parliamentary Counsel's Office in Canberra, Australia. It was established under the Legislation Act 2001 in order to make Australian Capital Territory legislation more accessible. The website presents all acts and subordinate laws (rules and regulations) along with disallowable instruments, approved forms, notifiable instruments and commencement notices made under authorising laws. Also included are bills which are currently before the Legislative Assembly.

Parliament of South Australia

Official website of the Parliament of South Australia. The site has background information about the Parliament including history, how Parliament works, the system of government and information about Parliament House (including a virtual tour which requires IPIX plug -in). The role of the House of Assembly and the Legislative Council is dealt with giving profiles of each member, a calendar of sitting days and notice papers giving details of current business.

South Australian Legislation

Website containing current and historical versions of South Australian legislation, managed by the Office of Parliamentary Counsel, Attorney-General's Department. Acts (either current or as enacted), regulations, policies, proclamations and bills can be browsed as alphabetical lists, or searched. The legislation is presented in PDF and RTF format.

Law Society of South Africa

Website of the Law Society of South Africa (LSSA) the professional body representing lawyers in South Africa. The site includes contact details of constituent and council members, a calendar of events, an online copy of the Society's Constitution and information about the work of various committees and departments of the LSSA. There are links to legal news stories and to a searchable directory of lawyers. There is also a link to the Law Society's journal, De Rebus and to other South African related legal resources.

Legalbrief

Legalbrief is an online news service provided by South African legal publisher Juta Law. The Legalbrief service is comprised of a range of newsletters with stories taken from a range of South African and international news sources. There are newsletters focusing on Africa, forensic law, environmental law, cyber law and South African legal judgements. This is essentially a subscription service but many news stories and some judgements are made freely available on the site.

Finding and Researching Expert Witnesses on the Web

An online guide to finding and evaluating expert witnesses on the web written by Jim Robinson an attorney and president of JurisPro an expert witness marketing company. The guide was published in the features section of LLRX.com in October 2002. The guide deals with finding experts in the United States providing advice and information and links to useful websites. There is guidance to finding background information on the relevant subject area using library websites and catalogues.
