Children's Hearings Scotland

Children's Hearings is a website of the Scottish Government providing information about the care and justice system for children in Scotland. The site provides background information to the Children 's Hearings System with particular sections aimed at children and families. Copies of Children's Hearings procedures are available to download in PDF. Additional materials provided include, annual reports, seminar reports, learning resource packs, a copy of the Kilbrandon Report and links to related websites.

International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea

The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) is a judicial body established by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. It is based in the German city of Hamburg. The website provides proceedings and judgments from the first case onwards, together with statutes, rules, regulations, the text of the Convention and other agreements and press releases. Background information about the Tribunal is available, as are profiles of the judges and information about procedure. The site is in English and French.

Gilbert and Tobin

Website of Australian law firm Gilbert and Tobin. The site has information about the firm and the services it provides along with contact details and profiles of staff members. A selection of in-house publications including updates, newsletters, brochures and practical guides are made freely available online in either PDF or HTML formats. These cover areas such as competition and regulation, intellectual property, litigation and dispute resolution, and corporate, communications and technology.

Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission

The Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission (SCCRC) was set up in 1999 to look at cases involving possible miscarriages of justice. The website describes the work of the SCCRC, provides a description of Commission's statutory powers and case statistics. There is advice on how to apply to the SCCRC and a downloadable form. Brief details are given of cases referred to the High Court by the SCCRC along with links to relevant High Court opinions. The site also has a selection of case studies and information surrounding the legal issues affecting the work of the SCCRC.

Armenian National Institute

The Armenian National Institute is a US-based organisation committed to affirmation of and research into the Armenian genocide, which occurred during the First World War. Its website provides a large collection of resources, including a timeline; photographic images; contemporary press coverage; full-text treaties, reports and other documents; the indictment and verdict of the Turkish Military Tribunal of 1919; and bibliographies. The site also offers an educational resources section for teachers.

IP Justice

IP Justice (IPJ) is a California based non-profit organisation that "promotes balanced intellectual property law". The website provides background information about the organisation including the 'Principles of IP Justice', profiles of directors and press releases. IPJ's publications are made freely available on the site in full-text in a range of formats.

Bar Association of the District of Columbia

The Bar Association of the District of Columbia (BADC) is a voluntary bar association representing members of the Washington DC legal community. The site has information about the BADC including contact details for officers, sections and committees. News from the BADC is made available in their free online newsletter, Hearsay which is presented in PDF format on the site. There are also details of the BADC's campaign, Operation Crackdown that provides free legal representation to community groups to help them fight the problems of drug related crime.

West Virginia State Bar

Website of the West Virginia State Bar the organisation representing members of the legal profession in the US state of West Virginia. The site has information about the activities of the State Bar along with contact details of the Board of Governors and members of the various committees. There is a membership directory and information relating to disciplinary procedures and rules of professional conduct. Access is also provided to full-text legal ethics opinions. Services for the public include brief answers to legal problems and links to West Virginia legal resources.

Common Core of Private European Law

The Common Core of Private European Law is a project based at the University of Trento in Italy, involving academics from Europe and the United States. The aim of the project is to analyse the private law of EU member states in order to establish the common elements. The site explains the background and methodology of the project and includes copies of the survey questionnaires used in its work. Relevant books by members of the project are listed.
