Investigatory Powers Tribunal

Investigatory Powers Tribunal conducts investigations into complaints made by members of the British government under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act. This includes surveillance, telephone tapping and interception of communications (bugging) by the Intelligence Services MI5, the Secret Intelligence Service (sometimes called MI6) and GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters). The website provides information on the purpose, statutory powers and activities of the Tribunal.

Planning and Environment Bar Association

Website of the Planning and Environment Bar Association (PEBA) whose members are barristers specialising in "planning, environment, compulsory purchase, highways, housing, rating and other aspects of local government and administrative law". The site gives information on the work of PEBA and includes a full-text (PDF) copy of the PEBA Handbook. Details of pro bono work carried out by PEBA members is also provided. Competition Authority

Official Website of the Irish Competition Authority (An tUdaras Iomaiochta), the "statutory body with a specific role to enforce Irish competition law". The site provides information on the background and structure or the Competition Authority and the work it carries out. The 'documents' section includes a complete collection of Competition Authority decisions along with reports, studies, discussion papers, submissions and notices. Country Reports on Human Rights Practices: US Department of State

These reports are compiled annually by the United States Department of State Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. They provide assessments of the current state of human rights as defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This covers: individual, civil, political, and worker rights. Topics covered include: summary of human rights legislation, assessments of democracy and womens rights. Reports are available from 1999 onwards.

Foreign Law Translations

Free database of foreign legislation and cases translated into English, provided by the Institute for Transnational Law at the University of Texas at Austin. Foreign Law Translations makes available translated French, German, Austrian and Israeli cases and French and German legislation in the areas of constitutional, administrative, contract and tort law; most of the content is from France and Germany. The site also has a glossary of French legal terms and a list of German legal abbreviations

Workplace Relations Commission

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) is an independent statutory body whose role is to provide a workplace relations service and employment rights framework for employers and employees in Ireland. The WRC provides services to employers and employees relating to good working practices assisting and advising organisations on all aspects of industrial relations in the workplace. WRC services cover adjudication, mediation, conciliation and advice. They also carry out investigations to ensure compliance with equality and employment-related legislation.

Irish Centre for European Law

Website of the Irish Centre for European Law (ICEL) which is based at Trinity College in Dublin. The ICEL is concerned with European Union and European Human Rights law as it affects Ireland. The site provides information about the aims, membership and activities of the Centre. Selected abstracts of conference papers are available free and details are given of publications for sale. A page of Irish web links is also included.

Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation

Website of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) an organisation whose aim is to provide legal assistance to deprived people in Indonesia and to campaign for "social justice, human rights and democratic values". The site gives information about the YLBHI detailing its work and activities in post-Suharto Indonesia including case advocacy, development of people's legal resources and policy research. The site can be viewed in English or Indonesian.
