General Council of The Bar

The Bar Council is the professional body representing barristers in England and Wales. The site provides information about the role of the Bar Council, the work of its various committees and copies of its annual reports. There is background information about barristers and their work, circuits, the Inns of Court and specialist bar associations. Online versions of Legalease's directories to the legal profession: Legal 500, Asia Pacific Legal 500 and the US Legal 500 and the Europe, Middle East and Africa Legal 500. The site lists legal practitioners and firms from all over the world, searchable by country and region. Overviews of the legal market in each country are given along with legal news and law firm news. There are articles on different specialisations within commercial law written by legal practitioners.

Academy of European Law

The Academy of European Law was established by the European University Institute (EUI) in 1990 to promote teaching and scholarship in the fields of European Union Law and Human Rights Law. It holds annual advanced-level courses on these subjects and publishes the content as Collected Courses of the Academy of European Law. Jean Monnet Project

Under the Jean Monnet Project, the European Commission supports university initiatives aimed at creating teaching activities in European integration, in particular in Law, Economics, Political Science and History. The Jean Monnet Center is based at New York University. Its website makes available the Jean Monnet Working Paper Series from 1995 onwards, the European Journal of International Law and European Integration Current Contents. The site also gives details of the Center's activities, courses and fellowships.

Institute of European Law

The Institute of European Law (IEL) carries out interdisciplinary reseach on European Law and is part of the Faculty of Law at the University of Birmingham. Details of the IEL programme of conferences, seminars and lectures are available. Much information is given about the mobility of lawyers within the European Union, with detail of the applicable regulations of each member state

Registers of Scotland

Website of the Registers of Scotland the Government Agency responsible for compiling and maintaining registers relating to property and other legal documents in Scotland. The registers are the Land Register of Scotland, the Register of Sasines, the Chancery and Judicial Registers and the Register of Community Interests in Land. The site describes the Registers, their history and how to search them. There is property and house price information and a full text copy of the Registration of Title Practice Book which contains a copy of the Land Registration Act.

HM Land Registry

The Land Registry is a non-ministerial department of the UK Government. Its main purpose is to register title to land in England and Wales and to record dealings once the land is registered. The website provides a searchable register of title deeds, downloadable data, a collection of land registration practice guides, reports, forms, house price data and other information.

UK Environmental Law Association

The United Kingdom Environmental Law Association (UKELA) is a membership organisation for those involved in the practice, study or formulation of environmental law. The site has organisational information about UKELA and details of the work carried out by regional and working groups including minutes, submissions and responses. Background information is given relating to environmental and wild law. There are details of events and conferences with links to papers and presentations from previous events provided.
