UN-I-QUE (United Nations Info Quest)

UN-I-QUE is a database created by the Dag Hammarskjold Library with which you can look up the document number of a UN official document or sales publication. It covers documents from 1946 to 2014 (it is no longer updated), including annual reports from UN committees and commissions, UN monograph series, UN journals and reports of conferences. The database can be searched by key word to find the title and document number of a document.

United Nations Documentation: a research guide

This site contains the full-text of a guide which was prepared by the United Nations Dag Hammarskjold Library and aims to provide an overview to the type of documents produced by the United Nations and how to trace them. It details the main types of documents issued by the General Assembly, the Security Council and the Economic and Social Council including resolutions, speeches, reports and press releases. It then describes the basic indexes which should be used to find particular types of material issued by the UN and its main bodies.

Impeachment: a Constitutional Primer

This site contains the full-text of an article by Jason J. Vicente which was published in 1998 by the Cato Institute, an independent US based public policy institute. It traces the constitutional and historical origins of the process of impeachment in the United States and then discusses its use in practical situations. These include the case of Richard Nixon and the Watergate scandal. Consideration is also given as to whether impeachment might occur in relation to Bill Clinton and the Monica Lewinsky case . The Case for Leasehold Reform (Enfranchisement) (1953)

Digitised version of a pamphlet published by the London Leaseholders Association in 1953. The pamphlet, provided online by the LSE Library (British Library of Political and Economic Science), addresses issues relating to the rights of tenants to purchase the freehold of a property. A review is made of the contemporary law and suggestions made for reform to increase the rights of tenants; a draft law is included. The original pamphlet is held by the LSE Library.

Air Accidents Investigation Branch

The United Kingdom Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is the part of the Department of Transport responsible for investigating the causes of civil aircraft accidents. Its website contains information on the work of the organisation, including its history and the civil aviation laws and regulations within which it operates. The site also provides reports on air safety and the Air Accident Monthly Bulletin from 2005 onwards.

The site aims to link scholars with interests in critical criminology by providing access to a collection of critical papers and web links to related resources.Topics covered include criminology theory, police, courts, corrections, sentencing, critical race theory, victimology, youth and crime and internet and the media.

Death Penalty Information Center

Website of the Death Penalty Information Center (DPIC), a non-profit organisation providing analysis and information on issues concerning capital punishment. The Center was founded in 1990 and prepares in-depth reports, fact sheets, resources, statistics and press releases on the death penalty. Subjects covered include, clemency, innocence, juveniles, mental illness, race and women. A state-by-state database provides information on whether individual states have the death penalty, the number of people on death row and the number of executions since 1976.

Intellectual Property Office

The Intellectual Property Office is responsible for granting intellectual property (IP) rights in the United Kingdom. Its website provides information about patents, designs, trade mark, including legislation, official notices, research commissioned by the IPO, procedural forms, guidance and databases of trademarks, registered designs and patents.
