TED: Tenders Electronic Daily

Tenders Electronic Daily, or 'TED', originated as the printed Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union (S series, or OJ S). TED is online-only and provides daily information on public contracts put out to competitive bidding in the EU member states and by EU institutions. The content can be searched or browsed and RSS feeds are available. There is a five-year archive. Users can register for free to access additional functions such as saved searches and customisation. The website is in all the official EU languages.

Welsh Parliament (Senedd)

Official website of the Welsh Parliament (Senedd Cymru) the body with responsibility for making Welsh laws, setting taxes and overseeing the work of the Welsh Government. The site contains information about Senedd members and the various committees. The Record of Proceedings, a transcript of the proceedings of the Senedd's Plenary meetings, can be searched on the site. There is information about the Bills and Acts of Senedd Cymru and the Senedd's legislative process.

One Europe or Several? The Dynamics of Change Across Europe

This is the website of an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) programme which studied several areas of change and development within contemporary Europe. It ended in 2003. The programme aimed to examine " ... contemporary processes of political, security, economic, social and cultural change across the European continent, notably in relation to influences on convergence and divergence within and between European countries and prospects for integration and fragmentation." US Department of Justice Antitrust Division

US Department of Justice Antitrust Division contains a vast amount of information on legal cases involving monopolies and mergers. The site includes links and articles relating to current actions, public documents relating to ongoing cases and an introduction to the work of this division of the Department of Justice, and links to guidelines and statements on policy towards antitrust in various areas of the economy in the US.

Erasing history: ethnic cleansing in Kosovo (1999)

This site contains the full-text of a report released by the US Department of State in May 1999. It provides a chronology of the nature and extent of war crimes in the region after the departure of the OSCE Kosovo Verification Mission which had previously made regular human rights reports. Information available includes details of the extent of the atrocities, their location and type, covering such forms as detention, execution, rape and looting.

Historical Archives of the European Union

Website of the Historical Archives of the European Union, which is based at the European University Institute in Italy. It consists substantially of bibliographic references to official documents produced by the major EU/EC institutions, including: the European Economic Community, the European Coal and Steel Community, the European Atomic Energy Community, the Council of Ministers, the European Commission and the European Parliament. Despite its name, however, it also covers archives relating to non-EU/EC bodies and archives acquired from individuals.

Independent Office for Police Conduct

Website of the Independent Office for Police Conduct, which handles complaints from the public about the British police force. This site provides information on the purpose of the body, its current activities, guidance on making a complaint and recent investigation reports. Statistics and research reports are also provided. Areas covered include police discipline, police brutality, police corruption, racism and police officers, use of equipment such as batons and CS Gas and statistics on deaths in police custody.

Avalon Project : the Barbary treaties 1786-1836

The Barbary Treaties were a series of nine agreements concluded by the United States and the Barbary nations of Morocco, Algiers, Tunis and Tripoli, between 1786-1836. This site provides the text of most of these documents, taken from volumes 2 and 3 of 'Treaties and Other International Acts of the United States of America' (US Government Printing Office,1931). An introduction and notes to the treaties by the editor, Hunter Miller, are also available. The information is provided by the Avalon project at Yale University.

Avalon Project : the American Constitution : a Documentary Record

This site contains the full-text of a number of primary source documents relating to the historical development of the United States constitution. They are maintained as part of the Avalon project of Yale University. They include the text of the Magna Carta, the Mayflower compact, the English Bill of Rights 1689 and documents relating to the Constitutional Convention.
