Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada

The Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada is an independent tribunal established in 1989 by the Canadian Parliament to make decisions on immigration and refugee matters. Its main concerns are handling immigration appeals and claims for refugee status and providing information on Canadian immigration law. The Department of Justice Canada is a government department with the mission of ensuring an accessible, efficient and fair system of justice and providing legal services to the government, its departments and agencies. This site gives information about the department's structure and provides links to the full-texts of Canada's consolidated statutes and regulations as well as departmental publications, and a list of helpful links to related websites. The site is available in English and French.

Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide

The Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (ELAW) was founded in 1989 by lawyers who wanted to collaborate to protect the environment. The site describes the work of the Alliance. News items and articles about ELAW campaigns are also provided. The Alliance's quarterly journal, ELAW Advocate, is available under "What We Do" (2000 onwards). The Resources page provides access to cases, laws and other materials for a range of geographical regions, covering environmental topics such as pollution, biodiversity, conservation, economics, mining, waste, water and wildlife.

British and Irish Association of Law Librarians

The British and Irish Association of Law Librarians (BIALL) was formed in 1969 to represent the interests of legal information professionals and others involved in law librarianship. The website has background information about the aims and history of the organisation, membership information and details of events, conferences and courses. There is also careers information relating to legal information work and a 'Job Board'.

Linkages Journal

Issues of Linkages Journal, 1996-2002, on the old, archived version of the IISD website. The journal was produced by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), providing environmental news, updates on environmental negotiations, summaries of key environment and sustainable development meetings, and a summary of recent notable academic literature. In 2002, Linkages Journal became 'Linkages Update', which is listed separately on Eagle-i and available at https://enb.iisd.org/linkages-update/.

Earth Negotiations Bulletin

The Earth Negotiations Bulletin is published online through the Linkages website and produced by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD). The Bulletin is intended to provide balanced, objective and informative summaries of international environment and development negotiations. Each volume covers a particular topic, such as a conference or convention, with individual issues providing short news reports on progress. Each volume also contains summary issues which contain full reports and analyses, and has an associated Linkages page with related information.

Institute of Maritime Law

The Institute of Maritime Law is the largest centre in the United Kingdom for the study of maritime law and for teaching, research and consultancy in the subject. This site contains general information about the Institute, its staff, and its activities, as well as information about courses the Institute runs which are designed for those working in the field of maritime law. A comprehensive list of relevant links is also provided, as well as details of publications and events.

Society of Legal Scholars

Website of the Society of Legal Scholars (SLS, a UK professional association aiming to advance legal education, which includes teaching in universities, legal research and the professional training of lawyers. The site provides organisational and membership information and details of conferences, events and SLS publications. There are web pages for the various subject sections giving details of each section's news, events and contact details. SLS newsletters are available going back to 2004 and position papers and consultation responses can be downloaded from the site.
