European Landscape Convention

The European Landscape Convention is a Council of Europe treaty for the protrection, management and planning of landscapes. It deals with all types of landscape, but also gives special emphasis to landscapes that determine the quality of people's living environment. The Convention was signed by 18 countries on 20 October 2000 in Florence. The full text of the Convention is available on the COE Conventions website, together with an Explanatory Report and status information. All information on CoE sites is available in English and French.

Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section

Website maintained by the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section (CCIPS) of the United States Department of Justice. This freely accessible site aims to be a clearinghouse for legal information relating to computer crime and intellectual property crime. The site provides information on cyber-crime, news updates highlighting recent additions to the site and links to recent documents. There are sections focusing on computer crime, intellectual property and electronic evidence.

ACI Europe

The ACI is a non-profit organisation of airport operators that aims to represent their interests. Their European region site has details of conferences, news releases and policy statements on matters such as air passenger rights, environmental issues, airport charges and security. There is also an airports database, although advanced search is restricted to ACI members. The site is in English.

NEAR - Network for Education and Academic Rights

The website of the Network for Education and Academic Rights (NEAR) a non-governmental organisation concerned with the promotion of academic freedom and/or human rights in education. NEAR was established in June 2001 and is supported by UNESCO. The site includes information about the organisation, an alerting and archiving service, a notice board, and links to other related websites.

Roberto Unger

This is a site devoted to the work of Roberto Unger of Harvard Law School, a critical legal scholar, philosopher and social theorist. Provides a selection of articles and books chapters, biographical articles about Roberto Ungera and a bibliography. There is also a page of links to other legal theory and social theory websites.

Europol

Europol an EU agency that facilitates the exchange of intelligence in order to prevent terrorism, drug trafficking and other serious international criminal activities. Its website describes the work of the agency and provides Europol publications, including the EU Terrorism Situation & Trend Report, the Serious and Organised Crime Threat Assessment and the Internet and Organised Crime Threat Assessment.

Terrorism, Transnational Crime and Corruption Center

Website of the Terrorism, Transnational Crime and Corruption Center (TraCCC), a research institute looking at the links between terrorism, transnational crime and corruption, based at the School of Public Policy at George Mason University in Virginia in the United States. The site has background information and links to research and resources on the issues TraCCC is involved with including corruption, money laundering, human trafficking, terrorism and security.

ELIXIR

A free online directory providing information about the practice of law and work of the legal profession across Europe. The directory describes training requirements and activities for lawyers, bailiffs and notaries in European countries. Click on the country flag to access.
