European Network of Councils for the Judiciary

Website of the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary (ENCJ). The ENCJ, based in Belgium, unites and provides support for the judicial councils of EU member states. These are organisations independent of the executive and legislature. The ENCJ doesn’t provide training but aims to promote best practice and improve cooperation between judicial councils and the judiciary. The site has information and reports on subjects the ENCJ is working on including minimum judicial standards, independence and accountability and the selection and appointment of judges.

Judicial Institute for Scotland

Web page of the Judicial Institute for Scotland which forms part of the Judiciary of Scotland website. The Institute was established in 2013 and provides training for Scottish judges with courses covering sentencing, criminal law, family, private and civil law, equal treatment and judicial ethics. Details of the Institute’s Advisory Council are given along with profiles of its members. Publications of the Institute are also available to download. These include a Jury Manual, Civil and Criminal Bench Books, Equal Treatment Bench Book and annual reports.

Canadian Association of Law Libraries

Website of the Canadian Association of Law Libraries (CALL) a membership organisation set up to promote law librarianship in Canada. The site has details of the Board of Directors along with courses and events. The Canadian Law Library Review is the official journal of CALL and is freely available to access on the site from 2022. The site can be viewed in English and French.

Family Justice Council

Website of the Family Justice Council an advisory body to the UK government whose role is to promote an inter-disciplinary approach to family justice and to monitor the system. Council members consist of a representative cross-section of those who work, use or have an interest in the family justice system including the judiciary, healthcare and social care professions and civil service. Profiles of members are given on the site. The website also has guidance on a range of topics including mediation, witnesses, capacity and competence and domestic abuse.

Administrative Justice Council

The Administrative Justice Council (AJC) is the advisory body for the UK government and devolved governments overseeing the administrative justice system in the UK. The purpose is to keep the system under review and to make it more accessible, fair, and efficient. The site has profiles of members and information on the work of current and previous working groups. These are dealing with issues such as disadvantaged people in the administrative justice system and polluter pays.

Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation

The Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) is an independent non-governmental organisation based in South Africa. They conduct research, advocacy and training working with communities affected by violence and provide mental health and psychosocial support services (MHPSS) to survivors of conflict and human rights violations. CSVR research reports are made freely available on the site. Recent reports have covered civil society's role in transitional justice in Africa, climate justice and promoting transitional Justice in Africa.

African Transitional Justice Hub

The African Transitional Justice Hub is an initiative of the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) and documents best practices in African transitional justice. There are four databases covering the following topics: Transitional justice processes, truth commissions, peace agreements and truth seeking and sexual violence. Material includes case studies, agreements and details of reparations of transitional justice processes.

Centre virtuel de la connaissance sur l’Europe

Website of the Centre virtuel de la connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE) which is part of the University of Luxembourg. CVCE holds a collection of materials on the history of the European integration process. The collection includes texts, images and audio and the content is arranged under the following headings: historical events, European organisations, specific topics (including European ideas and values and treaties) and oral history (audio and video interviews with key figures concerned with European integration).
