Description:
Website of the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary (ENCJ). The ENCJ, based in Belgium, unites and provides support for the judicial councils of EU member states. These are organisations independent of the executive and legislature. The ENCJ doesn’t provide training but aims to promote best practice and improve cooperation between judicial councils and the judiciary. The site has information and reports on subjects the ENCJ is working on including minimum judicial standards, independence and accountability and the selection and appointment of judges. The Annual EU Justice Scoreboard provides data on the efficiency, quality and independence of judiciaries in the European Union.
