European Case Law Identifier (ECLI) Search Engine

Search facility covering the national case databases of the EU member states that use ECLI references, plus cases from the Court of Justice of the EU. Searchable by member state, court, area of law and other criteria. Key word searches must, as a rule, use the language of the member state/s whose cases you want to find, however, a small proportion of the cases have been translated into other languages. The search engine is one of the tools offered by the European e-Justice Portal, an initiative of the European Commission and EU member states.

Center for Economic and Social Rights

The Center for Economic and Social Rights (CESR) is an international NGO working to establish a rights-based economy. It carries out research, advocacy, coalition-building and networking with the aim of supporting human rights and social justice groups around the world. The CESR website provides publications, guidance, videos and FAQs on human rights issues including inequality, environmental rights, social protection, debt justice and the right to education, food and health. 

Pan-African Parliament (PAP)

Website of the Pan-African Parliament, the legislative arm of the African Union. The PAP was established in 2004 by the Constitutive Act of the African Union and includes representatives from all 55 member states. The site gives details of MPs and the permanent committees and sets out the objectives of the Parliament which includes formulating model laws that member states can adopt.  The site can be viewed in English and French. 

African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)

Website of the AfCFTA Secretariat providing information on the African Continental Free Trade Area. The site outlines the aims of the AfCFTA which include creating a single market for the African continent and boosting its trading position globally. There are profiles of the countries who are signatories to the agreement and an overview of the protocols which include trade in goods and services, dispute settlement and customs and trade facilitation. A full text copy of the Agreement is given along with the e-tariff book and a selection of publications produced by the AfCFTA Secretariat.

Attorney General’s Chambers of St Lucia

Website of the Attorney General of St Lucia, the principal legal advisor to the Government. The Attorney General’s Chambers includes the Registry of Companies and Intellectual Property, the Legislative Drafting Unit and the Advice and Litigation Department. The site has information on all the functions and an organisational structure of the department. The Attorney General is also responsible for the revision, consolidation and publication of laws and the Revised Laws of St Lucia (2021) can be viewed in full text on the site.

International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda

Legacy website of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) which was established by the United Nations Security Council in 1995 to prosecute those responsible for the genocide that took place in Rwanda during 1994. The ICTR closed in 2015. There is background information and a timeline to the genocide. Selected documents relating to each trial, including indictments, judgements and transcripts, are given in PDF.

Vietnam Ministry of Justice

Website of the Ministry of Justice of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The site gives information on the role of the Ministry, its organisational structure and profiles of the ministers. There are news items outlining the activities of the MOJ including legal developments and international legal pursuits. The site can be viewed in English and Vietnamese.

Constitution of South Sudan

Electronic copy of the 2011 Constitution of South Sudan, amended up to 2013 and made freely available by the Comparative Constitutions Project at the University of Texas at Austin. The Constitution is provided in PDF and includes sections on the Bill of Rights, citizenship and nationality, the decentralised system of government and the executive, legislative and judicial functions.
