JURIST legal news and research

JURIST is a legal news site edited by Professor Bernard Hibbetts and hosted at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in the United States. The site is produced by staff and students at the law school and is aimed at the legal community with emphasis given to highlighting the latest legal developments, judicial decisions and primary source materials. There are sections focusing on United States, world news and an archive of news stories going back to 2003.

Legal Information in Norway, Written and Electronic Sources

An online research guide to Norwegian legal sources and legal literature written by Pal A. Bertnes at the Faculty of Law Library, University of Oslo. The guide is intended for English-speaking law students at Oslo University. It includes an introduction to the Norwegian legal system, finding primary and secondary legal sources, a guide to the law library at the University of Oslo, useful contacts in Norway and a bibliography. There is background information to the history of Norwegian law, the courts of justice and recommended introductory works on the legal system.

Introduction to the Moroccan legal system

A resource guide explaining the legal system in Morocco, with bibliographic details of sources and links to materials available on the internet. The guide was written in 2006 by Paris based academic Dahmène Touchent and updated in 2018 by Netty Butera a Governance consultant in Rwanda and Kevashinee Pillay a South African based attorney. The authors outline the structures and working of executive, legislative and judicial powers providing information on other authorities including the Constitutional Council and links to government websites.

Admiralty and Maritime Law Guide

Web portal to Admiralty and Maritime law compiled by Todd Kenyon an admiralty attorney based at the United States law firm Betancourt, Van Hemmen and Greco. The emphasis is on US law and the guide is aimed at admiralty attorneys and maritime professionals. The site contains over 1500 annotated links to admiralty law links on the web, and although not updated since 2006 still contains much relevant information.

Turkey Law Guide

An annotated research guide to Turkish government and law internet sources compiled by the US Law Library of Congress and made freely available on the web. The guide is aimed at legal researchers with the emphasis on websites providing the full-text of laws, regulations and court decisions. There are links to sites in both Turkish and English. Areas covered by the guide include the constitution, the executive, legislation, legal guides and general sources including background, economic and country information.

Online guide to federal law sources on the internet prepared by the Legal Information Institute at Cornell University Law Library and made freely available on the web. Links are given to federal legal materials available on the Legal Information Institute's own site including the US Code and Supreme Court decisions and to the websites of executive, judicial and legislative federal government agencies.

Civil Law Reform Division

Website of the Civil Law Reform Division (CLRD) of the Department of Finance and Personnel in Northern Ireland. This department is responsible for reform of private family law, trusts and property law, tort, contract law and private international law. The site provides details of current projects, downloadable consultation papers and reports and links to related documents such as legislation.

Legal Ethics Research Guide

A guide to legal ethics research prepared by Hyla Bondareff, Research Services Librarian and Lecturer in Law at the Washington University, School of Law Library. This is one of a collection of guides designed to suggest relevant print and electronic sources supporting seminars conducted as part of the teaching programme at the School of Law. Most of the guide is focused on legal ethics resources (books, periodicals, subscription databases) held at the Washington University School of Law Library but includes a list of ethics websites.

LawMoose

LawMoose is a free online resource guide provided by Pritchard Law Webs, a commercial company providing legal firms with web services. The site has sections focusing on legal information for Minnesota, Wisconsin and a World Legal Resource Center. The Minnesota and Wisconsin sections include links to state law, courts, government sites, forms, lawyers and to general legal reference resources. The World Legal Resource Center can be browsed by country or searched by keyword and provides links to other resource guides.
