The Haymarket Affair refers to the violent confrontation between protestors supporting striking workers and the police which took place in Chicago's Haymarket Square in May 1886. The protestors were convicted after a bomb was thrown and several police killed.

This service includes a free online library providing access to full text Codes of Ordinances, minutes and local government charters for a selection of city governments. A number of full text publications are made freely available on the site including reports covering topics such as judicial compensation, cameras in the courtroom, judicial independence and mass torts.

These databases can be used to check whether an individual United States lawyer is licensed to practice in a particular state. Most databases are provided by either the state bar association, the state's court system, disciplinary agency, bar examiners or licensing agency.
