The American Immigration Council (formerly the American Immigration Law Foundation) which was founded in 1987 and is based in Washington DC in the United States. Full text copies of the AILF's monthly newsletter are given on the site back to 1999 along with a selection of policy reports on American Immigration. The Legal Action Center provides information aimed at lawyers involved with immigration litigation including practice advisories (practical guides to certain aspects of immigration law), briefs and other legal resources.

The site explains the role of the Federal Courts as "guardians of the Constitution" and provides background information to the Supreme Court, Courts of Appeals, District Courts and the Bankruptcy Courts. Website of ALM Experts, a free online directory of United States experts which is published by legal journalism company American Lawyer Media. The directory contains over 15,000 experts and can be searched by name, state, company or area of expertise or browsed by state or area of expertise. Experts records vary with some having a profile, curriculum vitae, website and email address while others just have contact details. Areas of expertise are available as a PDF document and can be viewed as an alphabetical or hierarchical index.

The site features news, press releases, and feature articles in several sections including In the Courts and International. It also includes links to other Reed Smith newsletters such as Legal Bytes, a monthly publication. You will need to register to access the newsletter in PDF format, but this is free. The Center for Legal Policy (CLP) forms part of the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, a think-tank based in New York. The CLP is concerned with reform of the US civil justice system and its work includes publishing books, papers and reports and hosting conferences, forums and seminars for lawyers and policy makers. Recent publications cover areas such as class actions and mass torts, judicial selection, contingency fees, personal responsibility and the asbestos litigation industry. The site is aimed at individuals and small businesses and includes a directory, advice guides to various legal topics and an interactive forum for asking legal questions. The directory contains lawyer profiles worldwide, although the emphasis is on the United States, and can be searched by location or subject area. The lawyer profiles include contact details, practice areas and website addresses.
