Government of Norway

Official website of the Norway government which provides access to all government ministries and the Prime Minister’s office. Details of the government including a list of MPs are given along with information on the governments of Norway going back to 1814. There are links to government documents including white papers, consultations and committee reports. A link is given to Lovdata where Norwegian legislation can be viewed. The site can be viewed in Norwegian, Icelandic and English.

Official gazettes and civil society documentation

Collection of endangered government publications from ten African countries and Gulf states, digitised by the US-based Center for Research Libraries (CRL). Includes official gazettes – which typically publish legislation, government notices, et cetera - from Algeria, Congo Brazzaville, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Somalia and Zimbabwe. Most, but not all, of the digitised content is from the 1950s to the 1990s. The CRL website is in English and the gazettes are in the language of the country of publication.

Database-CIL

Aimed at researchers and policy makers, this database is a free public resource continually being updated by the Centre for International Law at the National University of Singapore. The database comprises over 900 ASEAN documents (treaties and soft law documents) and 300 other international law documents, with details of Southeast Asian implementation of key instruments. It can be searched by title, date, key word and treaty status. Each database entry provides documents in both pdf and word formats, as well as an external link, and recommended related instruments.

The Bookshelf

A database of Philippine primary legislation, cases and reference material, compiled by the Supreme Court of the Philippines. Covers Supreme Court cases, laws, executive issuances, references and treaties. The Supreme Court cases section of the Bookshelf encompasses decisions and signed resolutions back to 1996 only, but cases are available back to 1901 using the search facility (E-Library Search). The Laws section covers acts, constitutions, presidential decrees and other legislative material from 1900 to the present.

EU Exit Web Archive

The EU Exit Web Archive, maintained by the National Archives, is an online archive of documents providing an official UK reference point for EU law as it stood at the end of the Brexit implementation period. This collection consists of documents taken from EUR-Lex, including Treaties, legislative documents, case law, and the Official Journal of the EU, published up until 11pm GMT on December 31st 2020. The Archive can be searched using filters including keyword, type, date of document, status at EU exit, and language.

Gazettes.Africa

Free online versions of official government gazettes from various African countries, compiled into one website, hosted by Laws.Africa and AfricanLII. The gazettes contain important government information, for example governmental notices and legislation such as acts and bills. The gazettes are in PDF form and are searchable by country and date, with new gazettes being updated on the website continually. The collections vary from country to country, and there are gazettes from 22 jurisdictions as well as the East African Community and ECOWAS.

Ghana legal information institute

The Ghana Legal Information Institute (GhaLII) provides access to the Ghana Gazette and to Ghanaian court decisions. It also has a Legislation section that will contain acts, laws and subsidiary legislation, but this has no content at the time of writing (May 2021). The site is intended for use by the general public to deepen research in Ghanaian and African law.

HUDOC-ESC

The European Committee of Social Rights (ESC) is a Council of Europe body which monitors compliance with the European Social Charter, a Council of Europe treaty concerning social and economic rights. HUDOC-ESC is a database of its decisions and conclusions, together with related documents such as resolutions and recommendations of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers in matters relating to the Social Charter. Basic and advanced search facilities are provided. The interface and contents of the database are available in English and French.

HUDOC-EXEC

Database of documents relating to the execution of European Court of Human Rights judgments, provided by the Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights. Includes dossiers detailing the status of execution of each judgment (under 'Cases' on the database menu); communications from the parties to a case and from NGOs (et cetera); government action plans and reports; decisions of the Council of Ministers; memoranda; and resolutions. Coverage goes back to 1961.
