United Nations Assistance to the Khmer Rouge Trials

United Nations Assistance to the Khmer Rouge Trials (UNARKT) gives technical assistance to the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC), which was established to try members of the Khmer Rouge for genocide and crimes against humanity. Its website provides information about UNARKT's aims, activities and jurisdictions. It includes press releases, UN resolutions and mandates, court documents, UN reports and other material, including decisions in contract disputes with ECCC defence lawyers.

Flare Index to Treaties

The Flare Index to Treaties is a free searchable database containing details of more than 2000 of the most significant multilateral treaties from about 1600 onwards, together with selected bilateral treaties signed between 1353 and 1815. The index was compiled by Dr Peter Clinch of Cardiff University and is hosted on the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) website at the University of London. Entries are taken from "Multilateral Treaties: Index and Current Status" by Michael Bowman and David Harris and from other sources.

Rule of Law in Armed Conflicts Project

The Rule of Law in Armed Conflicts (RULAC) Project is an initiative of the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. The aim of the project is to "report on every State and disputed territory in the world, addressing both the legal norms that apply as well as the extent to which they are respected by the relevant actors." The website provides background information to international humanitarian law, international human rights law, international criminal law and international refugee law.

The Geneva Academy

The Geneva Academy, at Geneva University, carries out research and training on international law relating to armed conflict. Its website includes information about courses and specialised training at the Academy, outlines of current and completed research projects and details of publications. It also provides a series of research papers. There are links to the Rule of Law in Armed Conflicts Project website and to the Journal of International Criminal Justice, which is hosted at the Academy.

European Space Policy Institute

The European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) is a think-tank established by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) in 2003. Its website provides reports, articles, briefings, the ESPI Yearbook and other publications. There is also events information, news and information about the Institute's educational activities.

American Society of International Law

The American Society of International Law (ASIL) is a non-profit educational organisation. Established in 1906, it has members including lawyers, academics, corporate counsel, judges and representatives of governments and nongovernmental organisations. ASIL is concerned with a broad range of international law topics including human rights and humanitarian law, trade and investment, development, women and international law and international institutions. The ASIL website provides articles, briefings, podcasts and videos. There is also membership and events information.

Antarctic Treaty Database

Website of the Antarctic Treaty Database made freely available online by the Antarctic Treaty Secretariat in Buenos Aires. This searchable database provides access to the text of measures adopted by the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting (ATCM) including all recommendations, measures, decisions and resolutions from 1961 onwards. Users can search or browse documents by meeting, category and topic. Categories include environmental protection, marine pollution, monuments, scientific cooperation and tourism. These categories can be broken down into more detailed topic headings.

United Nations Audiovisual Library of International Law: Lecture Series

Website of the Lecture Series section of the United Nations Audiovisual Library of International Law. The Library is a free online multimedia resource of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs. The Lecture Series is a collection of video lectures given by given by leading international law scholars and practitioners. The lectures are arranged by subject including human rights, cultural heritage, development, international organisations, peace and security, courts and tribunals and the Arctic. A selection of related documents and profiles of the lecturers are also given on the site.

Yearbook of the United Nations

The Yearbook of the United Nations records the work of the United Nations, covering all areas of its responsibility. Each Yearbook lists all major General Assembly, Security Council and Economic and Social Council resolutions. It also contains information on major UN decisions, lists of key personnel and appointments, details of budgets and key UN reforms. The website provides all volumes, 1946-2006. A single volume can be selected from a drop-down menu. There is also a search facility which can search either the entire series or shorter date-ranges.

Amsterdam Law Forum

The Amsterdam Law Forum is an open access journal produced by the Law Faculty at VU University in Amsterdam. The journal is published quarterly and contains articles on contemporary international, European and comparative law, scientific papers and book reviews.
