Constitution of Cote d'Ivoire

Electronic copy of the 2016 Constitution of Cote d'Ivoire made freely available online by the Comparative Constitutions Project at the University of Texas at Austin. The Constitution is provided in PDF and includes chapters on rights and freedoms, powers of the executive, legislative and judiciary and the role of traditional chieftaincy.

National Assembly of the Seychelles

Official website of the Seychelles National Assembly- the legislative branch of the Seychelles government. The site provides information on National Assembly members and committees and on the work of the organisation. A full text copy of the Constitution can be downloaded and there are other important documents provided including order papers, standing orders and the official Journal.

Constitution of Jamaica

Online version of the Jamaican Constitution of 1962 made freely available on the Political Database of the Americas at Georgetown University in the United States. The Constitution incorporates amendments up to 1999 and includes chapters covering fundamental rights and freedoms, citizenship, role of parliament and the governor-general and the powers of the executive.

World Legal Materials from the Middle East

Collection of links to resources for the law of Middle Eastern jurisdictions, provided by the Cornell Legal Information Institute, Cornell University Law School. Covers 15 countries. Includes links to constitutions, government websites, some judicial sites, a few collections of laws and other materials relating to the law and legal systems of the Middle East. Most of the materials linked to are in English, but some are in Arabic and some in French.

Government of Timor-Leste

Website of the East Timor Government, providing official publications, legislation, news and information about the government of East Timor, its history and the political system. The legislation section of the site provides selected recent laws and a few treaties; much of the legislation is available in English, but some of it is only in Portuguese. The legislation is divided into categories: the Constitution; business and investment; taxation; imports and exports; oil and gas; transport and communications and immigration. The site is available in English, Portuguese or Tetum versions.

Constitute

Free database of constitutions from around the world, provided by the Comparative Constitutions Project, which is based at the University of Texas at Austin. At the time of writing, the database contained the constitution that was in force in September 2013 for almost every independent state. Constitutional documents for countries that do not have a single written constitution are not yet available, but will be added, as will historical verisons of constitutions. The Constitute database can be browsed by topic or country, or searched by key word.

Global Health and Human Rights Database

Free database of cases, constitutions and international legal instruments concerning the law of health and human rights around the world, provided by Lawyers Collective, an Indian NGO, and the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University, Washington DC. Simple and advanced search facilities are available, or the database can be browsed by criteria such as health topic, human right or country. The cases are from municipal and international courts, as well as UN committees.

Maldives Department of Information

The official website of the Department of Information in the Republic of Maldives (part of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture), formally the Ministry of Legal Reform, Information and Arts. The Downloads section contains links to PDFs of law and regulations, mainly relating to information and media but including the country’s constitution. Most documents are in Dhiveti, but the constitution is in English.
