Official website of the Australian Treasury the department with responsibility for the Government’s economic policy. The site has organisational information and profiles of ministers. There is information and documentation on the Treasury’s areas of responsibility including company law and corporate governance, economic issues, financial services, foreign investment and taxation. Publications made available on the website include press releases, speeches, consultation documents, working papers, policy documents and annual reports.

Australian Government: Department of Finance and Deregulation

Official website of the Australian Department of Finance and Deregulation whose areas of responsibility cover delivery of the Australian Government Budget, deregulation reform, financial management of public sector bodies and government procurement. The site has information on the structure of the Department and its Business Groups. Legislation administered by the Department is linked to on the site and there are policy and corporate documents and budgetary information available to view.

Law Council of Australia

Website of the national council of lawyers in Australia, a professional organisation promoting and developing the role of Australia's lawyers, administration of justice and access to justice in the interests of the Australian community. The Council was formed in 1933 by a number of Australian state Bar Associations and Law Societies. The site describes the history, role and membership of the organisation, with notes about committee and sectional structure, seminars and conferences, and traineeships. Policy documents can be downloaded from the site in PDF.

Indigenous Law Resources

A service developed and hosted by AustLII as part of  collaboration with the Council for Aboriginal and the Australian Research Council on Reconciliation and Social Justice in Australia. Provides a collection of primary documents on the subject of  indigenous law, relating particularly to Australia: parliamentary papers, government reports, policy documents, reports and submissions by civil society organisations, documents relating to test cases, and material concerning indigenous advocacy.

Expert Witness Website

The Expert Witness website provides a searchable online directory of experts and organisations. The directory covers England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, India and South East Asia. Full entries provide information about the individual or organisation and include contact details. The directory can be searched using a simple keyword or advanced search option.

Researching Australian law

An online research and resource guide to Australian Law, written by Nick Pengelley who is Chief Law Librarian at Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in Canada and Sue Milne who is a lecturer at the University of South Australia, School of Law. The guide provides background information about the Australian legal system and identifies sources of primary materials such as Australian legislation, cases and treaties.

Queensland Law Reform Commission

Internet site of the Law Reform Commission established by the Queensland State Government in Australia. The site offers online access to recently published reports and recommendation documents. Current projects are also detailed on the site. These review the law relating to jury directions, jury selection laws and Queensland guardianship laws. Background information about the Commission, its membership and remit in the modernisation of Queensland State law and notes on how to make a submission to the Commission supported by an electronic feedback option are provided.

Scrutiny of Acts and Regulations Committee

Official website for the Committee established by the Parliament of the State of Victoria, Australia to oversee review and recommend revision of State legislation, specifically "redundant or unclear" measures. The site publishes documents and discussion papers relating to current inquiries and gives full text access to reports, discussion papers and statute law revision reports. Law Reform Commission of Western Australia

Website for the Law Reform Commission responsible for reviewing and servicing the revision of selected laws in Western Australia. This official site describes the composition, work and authority of the Commission. In addition the site offers a details of current projects, selected links and information on conferences in the field of law scrutiny and reform. The site carries full text reports and papers relating to current and completed referrals such as aboriginal customary law, contempt and review of the homicide laws.

New South Wales Law Reform

Government website for the Law Reform Commission based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The site publishes information about the Commission, its history, and its role in helping to update law and the administration of law. An outline of the law reform and modernisation process is provided, with particular reference to the work of the New South Wales Community Law Reform Program. Current projects before the Commission with supporting online documentation and discussion papers include privacy, consent of minors to medical treatment and complicity in criminal cases.
