Education Law Unit

The Education Law Unit is an initiative of the Govan Law Centre, an independent, charitable community law centre in Scotland. The Unit can provide legal representation in education law cases and the website has information on Scottish education law for special educational needs advisers and parents of children with special educational needs, including guidance and template letters. News and videos are available and there is advice and information on mediation and taking a case to court.

Scottish Law Commission Reports

A BAILII database carrying reports published by the Scottish Law Commission. Reports are available from 1989 onwards and are presented in HTML format. The reports are listed alphabetically by title and chronologically by year. Recent topics covered include damages for wrongful death, personal injury actions and crown appeals. BAILII is a free, collaborative service aiming to provide public access to primary legal materials for the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. The service has been developed through cooperation between AustLII and parties in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Scottish Law Commission Discussion Papers

A BAILII database providing access to discussion papers published by the Scottish Law Commission. The service carries papers in HTML format from 1993 onwards. Papers are listed alphabetically by title and chronologically by year. Recent topics covered include double jeopardy, unincorporated associations abd crown appeals. BAILII is a free collaborative service offering public access to primary legal materials for the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. BAILII has been developed through cooperation between AustLII and parties in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

London Solicitors Litigation Association

Website of the London Solicitors Litigation Association (LSLA) an organisation formed in 1952 to represent solicitors practising civil litigation in central London. The website has information about the LSLA including the constitution, profiles of officers and details of forthcoming events. Copies of the Association's newsletter, Resolve and LSLA responses to consultation exercises are made freely available in full-text. There is also a page of related links.

Road Law

The Road Law website is produced by Martin Davies, a former solicitor, and forms part of his Law on the Web gateway to legal information. The site is aimed at drivers and provides advice on motoring law and road traffic offences. There are sections on motor accidents, mobile phones, seat belts, endorsements, a survey of insurance premiums for drivers with penalty points on their licence and information relating to different driving offences including drink driving, speeding and failing to stop after an accident.

Solicitors Sole Practitioners' Group

The Solicitors Sole Practitioners' Group (SPG) is a Law Society group formed in 1992 to represent sole practitioners in the legal profession. The website provides information on the history, structure and constitution of the Group and a message board provides a forum for members to exchange ideas. A selection of reports dealing with subjects of interest to sole practitioners such as risk management and supervision of offices are also made available online along with a page of links and resources. The SPG's journal, Solo can be viewed on the site in PDF format.

Ofcom

Ofcom is a UK official body created in December 2003 from five former telecommunications watchdogs and regulatory authorities- the Broadcasting Standards Commission, Independent Television Commission (ITC), Oftel (Office of Telecommunications), Radio Authority and Radiocommunications Agency. Its role is to regulate all aspects of the British telecommunications sector. This includes TV and radio broadcasting, digital media, mobile phones and land based telephones. The website provides information on the role of the body and its current activities.

Copyright Licensing Agency

The Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) is a non-profit making company formed in 1982 by the Authors' Licensing and Collecting Society and the Publishers' Licensing Society to protect the interests of rights owners. The CLA issues licences for organisations wishing to make copies from books and journals and passes the money on to the rights owners. The site has background information on copyright issues, getting clearance and guidance for education, business, government and other public bodies that need to obtain licences.

Scottish Information Commissioner

The Scottish Information Commissioner (SIC) hears appeals regarding Scottish FoI requests and provides information to the public about information rights in Scotland. The SIC website has information about the work of the commissioner and provides guidance, the relevant legislation, appeal decisions and a list of current appeal applications. 

Dog Law

Website covering different aspects of the law relating to dogs in England and Wales. The site is produced by specialist solicitors Cooper & Co. It provides information and guidance about the law relating to dogs, as well as details of seminars for lawyers and dog owners.
